Ok was diagnosed berfore xmas. im 30. I started on 36mg concerta in middle of jan for 1 month. found it ok but was not lasting more than 6 hours. when i went back to the doctor. he put me on 54mg. My main problem is hyperfocusing and concentration, mind wandering etc. I find the tablets are helping me but im after loosing alot of weight and my appetite is zero. i think there actually making me bit depressed aswell. so my wife rang the doctor today and he advise that i stay off the tablets till i see him again in 10 days. to be honest im annoyed that there not working aswell as i hoped. suppose were all looking for ta miracle cure!

So bit nervous now as tomorrow will stop taking tablets and how it will effect me. back to wrecked head now i suppose. When i was diagnosed with add while i was waiting to see the specialist i noticed the sypmtoms more and became paranoid. So will have to wait and see what the doc says wheter he trys me on ritalin ?

How is it going? Did you find the right combo of medication? Concerta for me was great at first but as I upped my dosage it gave me anxiety and depression. I'm also on Lamotrigine for the anxiety. It's ok so far still experimenting

btw it's only been 1 1/2months since started the meds.

concerta is just a slow release release version of ritalin so if the concerta's not working there's not much chance you'll find ritalin useful. Dont give up hope though, there's other alternatives to try. Loss of appetite is the most common symptom for all of them, don't worry too much about it, it tends to settle over time for most people and it can take a while.

I never found out of it was related, but I noticed that I was in a TERRIBLE mood in the evenings the days I took Concerta. I felt like it was related because there was no identifiable reason for the bad mood...I was just ****ed off at the world! I think my family wanted to kill me. Such drugs can definitely affect your moods.

There is no "miracle" cure, or cure at all, as you know. Just try to be patient. There are many ADD meds so with the right doctor you will probably find something that works better for you. It sounds like your doc is flexible and listens to you, which is a very good thing!

Try to switch to Ritalin IR or LA.

Concerta did not work for me either.
Hardly felt anything.
Did not feel focused at all.
and had horrible insomnia issues despite the fact I took the pill at 7-8 am.
