Very cool photos, concert photos are great because the lighting is rarly not perfect to capture the mood of the music. The first one there is my favorite, good job - keep them coming!

VERY nice, myvinyl! I love the first one too, very crisp and clear considering the lighting conditions. What setup and kit did you use? Thanks for sharing, and also welcome to the forums!

I just purchased the Nikon D3000, it's my first DSLR as well. Awesome camera isn't it? I have had a lot of advanced point-and-shoots; however, the simplicity and range with the Nikon cameras are just amazing. If you have not yet purchased filters, look in to that as well :) Polar filters can really put some amazing work in. Also, since you're new (as I am) if you didn't know you can download Lightroom 3 for free right now, it is in a beta test. The beta ends the last day of April; however, it's an incredible improvement from the previous version. http://tinyurl.com/ykwc4kv is a link to the download page.

Keep the images coming :) Can't wait until flowers and trees start coloring... I can't wait to get outside and start taking photos!

Thanks for the link. I have some filters, but have not used them. I am reading as much as I can on the D90 and taking a local intro DLSR class in April.

I think the best experience you can have at concert photography is to just go to the local clubs where bands play, or open mike nights, and ask the bands if you can take their photos for practice, and most are happy to have the attention. It might not be long before they like what you do and you can offer your services starting at a low fee. Most of the local bands around here don't make much but would be willing to let photographers practice in exchange for some promo shots for their website.

Thanks for the kind words. I would be interested in seeing your work. As I have been going to shows since I was 12...Shooting for real with a photo pass, as opposed to sneaking in a few point and shoot shots, is a rush. I do Booker T Jones/ JJ Grey 3/31 and would appreciate your CC on them.
