Do you ever get dizzy & see stars when standing up quickly? Can you describe it? My description is a bit bizzare: years ago I read the Carlos Casteneda books about the Native American shaman and related it to "seeing the lines of the world" because it looks to me like shimmering reflections on threads headed in all directions. Not stationary dots but maybe 1/4-inch long lines that move around like following threads. A few dozen of them within several feet of me at varying distances. It only lasts a few seconds then clears up. I don't feel nauseous just a little bit dizzy.
Just wondering if others experience it this way? I'll see this when I'm kind of weak or sleepy or tired and stand up quickly usually. Google suggests this could be caused by a bang on the head or strangulation, or panic attacks with fainting. None of those are the case for me. It could be just bad blood flow to my brain from not breathing deep enough or being too relaxed or hung over or something more like that. It just occurrred to me that this is probably not normal and may be related to my often feeling spacey. I figure all the drugs I did in highschool probably didn't help either. I'm sure most people get dizzy when standing up quickly if you are tired but seeing stars is usually only when you are about to pass out or hit hard on the head, right?
