My daughter was just diagnosed and If anyone has any information about this please let me know......I have been researching for a couple of days.......

1.She was vaccinated two years ago..for chicken pox.

2.She has tiny blisters on the outer ear and along the facial nerves.....cheek, neck and chin.........

3.She is already showing signs of drooping smile on the same side.

4.She is taking an Anti-viral and a steroid...but today its spread and there is more???

She has already been to the emergency room.....but doctors only tell you so much....They don't have time to tell me since I have to know EVERYTHING especially with this....this is my child....

If anyone knows of a disease that could be mistaken for ramsey hunts syndrome please let me know........Or just anything you find out at all please tell me..........

condition seems to fit, basically the the same type of virus related to the chicken pox virus got into her facial nerves, what was her circumstance when she got vaccinated, was she ill? age? and she never had chicken pox right? just the vaccination? I dunno seems odd to me that shes having this now after being vaccinated.

Seems very odd to me to.....She is showing signs of herpes zoster oticus/ramsay hunt syndrome......She is only three years old and was vaccinated when she was a healthy one year old.....She has blisters on the outer ear then blisters in a straight line going down her cheek then down the neck....She has a crooked smile on the same side as the infection site....

No one in her immediate family has any history of herpes either........And we haven't been anywhere for someone with it to be in contact with her unless it was weeks ago.....

stomach ache
leg pain
cheek pain
mild fever
nightmares/sleep walking
redness outer ear
tiny blisters outer ear
spread to cheek in a stripe going down to her neck and chin

The stomach and leg pain happened two weeks ago, I never thought it would turn to this...All other symptoms came this week..........The blisters apeared Thursday night.

We found she has chronic granulomatous disease and she is going to see an infecious disease specialist......

oh I see, otherwise I was going to say that maybe her immune system was impaired some how by drugs or underlying condition at the time she was vaccinated, thats why I was asking about her condition at the time, chronic granulomatous disease explains her immune system being impaired, its genetic. I'm very sorry about your daughter, I hope she gets all the care she needs. Hang in there.
