Boogie I have clued my nephew into this site as he was diagnosed with ADD at the age of 17 and is having trouble with getting past the stigma's that tend to follow us.
Unfortunatly my son is not a teen yet (10--ADHD/deep depression) and wants to post but there is not a forum as of yet for him; but, BIG promise's next time :).

My boy's only 10, and I'm not sure whether I want him alone in the net or not yet... but soon, soon he will be here...

That's good that you guys are concerned about protecting your kids - my younger brothers (4 of them, ages 10, 12, 15, 18) are all really huge computer geeks (like my dad of course lol) the younger ones have been going on the internet by themselves since they were around 6 or 7.
they don't get into any trouble though, so I dont' think it's that big of a deal. then again, it's not like they're REALLY alone, since we have 4 computers in the office, adn usually there is SOMEONE in there (since evyerone loves the computer so much!)
anyway... what I was going to say is that generally my brothers just play games - online or offline. their favorites online are runescape, the network version of starcraft, and all those really cheesey platform games. They are all good at strategy-type games and RPG's... i bet there would be quite a few shocked people out there if they discovered they were playign against a 7-year old! lol
I guess that's why when I tried runescape I kept picturing all the other players as little kids even though probalby most of them are between age 12-16.
anyway, that was my input... I guess my opinion is it's not that bad to let kids play online as long as you keep a general eye on them.

Point well taken; but, there are some freaks out there and it is my luck that one of my kid's would meet up with them and I would not be shocked to hear I was playing a game against a 7 yr old...my son beats me all the time.lol

My son just clobbered my best friend at Halo Deathmatch. Really surprised my best friend, as he has played for hours online every week for the last three months and considers himself pretty good... :D :D :D
But we are digressing from Boogiebutt's point. Sorry, Boogie.

I helped my son sign up last night. He's 14 and loves to chat. He wrote to livingwithadd for permission to join the Teen Forum. I hope that was the right thing to do.
