Thanks everyone!!!!

Yes this is my very first Grand baby and I am so thrilled.

Just found out tonight the her husband has one more test to take and he will have his emt licence. He wants to be a fireman and since he is in the reserves he is taking the courses in sections rather than a whole. He was shipped out his first semester of college and so this makes more matter what happens he is accomplishing something that is usable in the future. proud, amazed and above all grateful.

My son and I were talking about what being a successful adult means today and we rounded the corner of it better to have a job that causes you more stress than is healthy to have it better to have less money if it enables a person to be content with life?

We have talked like this before, but it never sunk in with him. I mention this I guess because that is what I see for the happy couple in the pics, they are striving for better and yet not making things so hard on themselves that they are miserable along the way.

Yes, she is having a girl.

The baby shower was last night and oh what fun. We painted little onesy tee shirts in sizes birth to 24 months as an activity. I guess the little gal will have plenty of memory filled onesy for a couple of years...

Then we did this thing where we put paper behind our backs and tried to get it in the shape of a baby...that was hillarious...

And, SUPER DUPER good news! The 4 and 1/2 year fued with the other parents is finally over. I was so nervous to see them! We have had some type of drama at every single encounter since the "thing" that started the fued. Thanks everyone, because you know you guys have been a part of the healing! oxoxox

I will post 4-5 pics (mental note to self...keep it under 10) of the baby shower as soon as they are available. :)

Wonderful looking pictures. At least you got to see your grand babies.THis is whats so hard for me My Mom wanted grandkids, wanted to see em.I wanted to give my mom some granbabies but way I was brought up having sex out of wedlock was not an apprpriate thing in my family being I was brought up in a strong and strict christian household.I prolly could of and mom would of loved her grankids but I respected my mom and the sanctity of marriage.I still do,I can hear my mom say I dont care what any 1 else does, what they do an what we do is 2 different things. But If I ever do have kids this will weigh on me heavily knowing this.I love that story with your daughter.Did she get cleaned up and get to go out on the town w hubby? That was funny, probably not to her tho.

yes, they got to go out! she was able to do friday drinks w some coworkers last week as well. poor baby just about blew a gasket yesterday tho. she had a fussy baby all night and was only asleep about three hours when someone pounded on the front door. the dogs got riled up and fussy baby woke up, so mamma was tired!

My friend from work has an 18 year old daughter who just graduated highschool. She just started working,school/college she tells her dad Im tired/broke he replies back to her Hi Im glen nice to meet you :D I fell over rolling when he told me that,we both agreed,I said get use to it honey the pains are only starting from here on out. Now I wanted to ask you because Im confused as to who has adhd in your family? Not that it even matters,I know in another thread you made a comment I believe to be about your daughter liking 300 dollar purses and such.

My eldest is a functioning bipolar, I have adhd and bipolar, my son is adhd and my youngest is bipolar I think...something going on their but not exactly sure what. I also have a 17 year old who tends to bouts of depression.

My eldest basically has made lots of money since graduation and that girl has spent it

08-01-10, 09:04 PM
Thats why she spent it because shes bi They say every person down the line w bipolar maybe adhd too it gets worse an worse in in manifestations.

This could be true for her as well, however, she is far more functional at this age than I was.

08-02-10, 05:31 PM
At least she doesnt do drugs,I think I read that somewhere on here where you stated drug abuse held you back.I know where assuming gets me:D

Actually, alot of things held me back. Severe childhood trauma, mental illness (bipolar, ptsd, panic disorder, generalized anxiety,) adhd, drug abuse...all rolled into some serious challenges...

but then God....
