I was too confused and worried about her throwing up on me for that to cross my mind actually. I don't she saw anything though, and if she did I doubt she'll remember. I was surprised she managed to walk to shower stall at all to be honest.

anonymouslyadd 04-09-11, 12:42 AM Ok, so Thursday a girl in my journalism class comes up to me. She was very well dressed. She gave me this bag of goodies and said she wanted me to write a story on her and the people she's running with for student government.
Later on in the night, a friend, who sits next to me in that class, told me that she had put her butt on the desk indicating a certain desire of hers. I didn't realize it. LOL.
I've been trying to watch this dang *ahem* anime for a while now. ;)
I just realized your avatar and signature are from Ponyo. I feel really dense that it took me this long to notice. Anywhoo, I just wanted to tell you that they're adorable and I like them.

In 2nd grade I had an imaginary friend named Zack. He was a superhero who fought a lot of very colorful evil creatures that I made up. Except I didn't actually believe in him, I was already too cynical or whatever. I just thought it would be cool to have an imaginary friend. He actually started out as the main character in some little stories I wrote, and then I decided he was awesome enough to come out of the stories and be my pal.

I dont know. I spent a majority of my life at school I rarely got close to any of my classmates. I guess some people just don't click with others well enough to bother getting close to them.
tired1823 04-09-11, 02:13 PM hmm. My boss and the people that have been working in my office for years are not that close. i'm not sure what it is.

hypergirl96 04-09-11, 03:50 PM I went to a concert yesterday into this morning. It was the most amazing thing I have ever done. It was a Christian concert and we all prayed together. I was filled with this great, unexplicable joy and peace. I cried out of the pure joy of it all. It was truly amazing.
Today I find I am almost a different person. I find I want to help people more without them asking. I see all he things that need to be done and i think "i should go do that." and i do, like cleaning the house and washing all the dishes in the sink (what my mom usually does). i find i want to help more, help other more. and i don't even want credit for it...i just want to help. its a truly amazing and welcome change. :)

hypergirl96 04-09-11, 07:36 PM What band/group was it?
there were a few but the main group (my favorite band of all time!:D) were the newsboys. except my dad anf i have taken to calling them the tai-boys now cuz since the led singer peter left (an aussie) and was replaced with michael tait (dc talk), their music has really been tait-afied and lost the old-school newsboys sound that we love.
my dad says you really have to think of them almost as a different band in order to appreciate the music. its sad, but they still make good music even though it has lost the band's unique sound that drew us to them. dont get me wrong, i love tait, im just sad that the newsboys lost their sound :(
C8H10N4O2 04-09-11, 09:38 PM So I went shopping again today. I've spent soooo much money the last few days. For the first time in my life though, all my purchases (with the exception of a diet coke, and slush from Sonic) were totally focused on getting things organized/being more productive and efficient in my studies or were general boring things I had been needing to get for my apartment.
I didn't realize this until I was talking to my mom on the phone about everything I had bought. She also thought I was crazy for the amount of shopping I did today. (~10 different trips to various stores, but a few stores were repeated as I was actually taking the time to shop around, and then I'd have to go back to where I had found what I wanted...I normally can't handle going out and shopping for more than 10 minutes before I get overwhelmed)
Oh yeah, and at my last appointment with the doc, she went from strongly encouraging me to try upping my dose a little bit, to basically saying "Now I'm completely convinced...you've really gotta give trying a bit larger of a dose a shot."
As much as I hate it, I think she probably was correct. I've gotten much more done than I was before upping the dose. Which makes me laugh, because I felt like I was getting so much more done than before I was taking meds, but I guess I just wasn't quite there yet.
I hate meds though, I'm the guy who takes the minimum amount of painkillers as possible after a surgery (usually 1 or 2 doses)/never takes acetaminophen or advil. Actually, with the exception of some allergy meds, I don't regularly take anything, and even with the allergy meds, I take less than 30 a year, despite probably needing to take them all year. I just hate taking pills.
But I love the results. I just hope I'm able to use the focus that I'm gaining efficiently, so that I can catch back up with my collegues, because I'm lagging behind some. 19 days until do-or-die exam.
I also signed a lease today for next school year, so if I do fail out (and lose my job since it's tied to being in school), life is going to get really "interesting" in a pretty bad way.
tl;dr-just read the bolds for a few "random facts about me" :D

C8H10N4O2 04-09-11, 11:49 PM I purposefully didn't put addforums.com into my bookmarks bar in chrome or firefox so I wouldn't be too tempted to visit too frequently.
So often times, I get the thought to come here, look up at the toolbar to access it like I do with all my common sites, then I stare at the bar and try to remember what I was going to do. Then I remember and have to type it in the address bar before I forget again. I chuckle every time I do this because of the nature of the site and the thing that somehow always happens to me when I try to visit the site.

I actually prefer to hang out with my BIL who is a lot like me, just a little older. He's into music and cars too so we have plenty to talk about.
The single ladies are all friends of my wife and it seems one is crazier then the other. Hung out with one of them last night at the movies and was really really out of it. Doesn't help I wasn't into it to begin with and it was a film festival so it was standing and waiting a half hour to get in, lots of noise...I was way overstimulated at the time. If I had my way I would've just run into the men's room and just sat there until the movie had let in.
Not to mention I am low drama and all my wife's friends, much like my wife, are high drama. So I don't care much for them at all.

I can see the equality thing. Some higher educated folks believe their sh*t don't stink. C8H10N4O2 04-11-11, 04:49 AM Well... I have 17 days left until doomsday. This is going to be rough. I don't know... I might just shut myself off from the world until sometime mid-May, say "hi" to the world shortly after the beginning of May just to get a breath of fresh air, and then plummet into chemistry darkness until the end of May. I have to freaking pass these courses. If I had a bit of a buffer with my GPA I think I'd feel better, but anything below a B=probation/dismissal. I just don't know if I have it in me or not.

shysmile 04-11-11, 05:01 PM Floors make for horrible beds. They leave you feeling really sore when you wake up.
The last time I slept on a floor was about a decade ago at a friend's sleep over party. I couldn't sleep very well, then suddenly sat up to relieve my back and head, felt really ill and dizzy, and ended up running to the bathroom to throw up.
Got 0 hours of sleep that night, ended up waiting on the couch downstairs until everyone else woke up.
I still don't know if the feeling ill was related to sleeping on a floor, but just in case, I haven't tried it since.

The Orphans AIDS industry is a sick and twisted thing.
Isn't that where volunteers build schools and such for orphans? Whats sick and twisted about that?
Isn't that where volunteers build schools and such for orphans? Whats sick and twisted about that?
Not exactly. It's where people pay a lot of money to go volunteer with orphans who most of the time aren't actually orphans. They still have one or both parents alive, but they were sent away by most likely well meaning parents because orphanages have more food. That wouldn't really be a huge problem except most of these orphanages aren't licensed by the government and the children are often treated more like animals in a petting than kids.
Sometimes the orphans are kept in intentionally poor living conditions so westerners will feel even more pity for them. According to Uniceff's research most of the time the children's welfare is secondary to the profits the businesses make from letting completely unchecked strangers from foreign countries come in to cuddle and play with children. Then there's the problem that the children grow attached to the strangers and then the strangers leave and never come back again. And this happens over and over and over again to the children. That kind of thing is known to cause a lot of damage to children emotionally.
The point of orphanages is to have a safe place for orphans to go and hopefully be found by people who will foster them, love them, and eventually adopt them. But the orphan AIDS industry is kind of destroying that in favor of keeping children in the orphanages so volunteers who are well meaning but being severely mislead can spend time with them and take pictures of them.
It's important to keep in mind that the orphan aids industry is not the same thing as the actual volunteer industries that have well trained volunteers that are there for more than a week and doing like offering medical treatment, and what not.

I remember one summer back in the 80s when the Santa Cruz river almost over ran its banks downtown during the monsoons. The water was as high as the bridges and was dirty and filled with all sorts of debris that was washed away. It was very dangerous, but people flocked to watch it day and night...myself included.

anonymouslyadd 04-13-11, 04:08 PM Grrr. I want to effin scream. This girl who put together our power point presentation for tomorrow played around with a figure of my budget, which I was able to price fairly accurately!
She's got the b**** to tell me my budget makes no sense without any explanation.
She's a freakin know it all control freak. She didn't ask me about it. Wow. I guess I'll just let it go. What a loser she is.
I've got diamonds in my eyes.

I think I'm failing my western civ. class because I missed my recitation class a few times and I failed most of my quizzes in there. I'm disappointed in myself, I should have done way better than this.

I need to take this stupid laptop apart to take off the hinge, and possibly replace the whole screen's casing.
More random facts: I have about 7-8 laptops worth of junk under the table, and I don't think a single one's screen casing will fit this stupid laptop...
Anybody got an old Dell XPS that's junked? :D

I agree, it does fix everything. I think I'm going to buy some ice cream once the Den opens. Ice cream makes things better too.

Did they give you any idea when you would get it or what you have to do to get it? That seems weird... or maybe over protective.

I'm watching it on youtube. I never realized how adult some of the jokes were until I watched it again. It's awesome.

One of my brothers teachers is being a total a**hole to him and it makes me feel awful...whenever this kind of cruel injustice or whatever happens I'm the first one who wants to barge in and give the bully a piece of my mind. I have a hard time understanding why so many adults (especially my parents) don't do this and just play nice. How can you relate to me the details of how terrible this is and tell me how PO'd you are and not say the same thing to the guy who's causing it??

Sometimes telling the person doesn't change anything. Especially if it's a person in a position of power whose just an *******. My old boss was a complete *****, and if you told her that she would say, "So?" then write you up or fire you, because she could and she didn't care.

I'm a slave to m sweat tooth. It's close to unquenchable, which is why I have a small cup of ice cream right now. The only food my doctor ever told me to avoid was salt. The cafeteria food here is loaded down with the stuff and it's made my blood pressure rise, well that and stress. So I have to watch my salt in take and not use the cafeteria any more.
Random Fact: I'm nervous about going to my recitation class tomorrow because I haven't been in two weeks. I like the class, but my health has not been so hot this semester. I hope the TA isn't upset with me.

Cartoon movie that came out a year ago, it's about the Super Villian taking over for the Super Hero when the Hero retires. Voices of Brad Pitt, Will Ferrell and Tina "Nerdy Goddess" Fey are in it. Supposed to be wicked funny.
