I spent time with my little brother tonight and was so exhausted afterwards. He went from one video game to another. I had a hard time keeping up, and he wants to be the leader when we play together! I don't take to well to this.

He isn't into sports as I am. He loves building things, which is not my thing. I'm gonna have to work within what he loves to do. It's hard.

Do you get sick a lot?

Nah. I'm just not naive. :o Before a meal I'd rather not think about how many hands have touched that same menu and not washed their hands after using a bathroom, especially if I'm ordering finger food (as I usually do). I am not OCD about it or anything, it's just a preference.

So I inadvertently discovered my new camera can actually take photos of Jupiter and 3 or 4 of its moons. I was pretty surprised when I pulled the picture up on my computer after shooting several nighttime objects and saw this one with several moons.

Thanks. Me too. I actually used the ridiculously difficult to read star charts as a kid. The kind that you had to turn a dial based on the time/place you were in order to get a rough map of the sky. Google Sky Map makes it way too easy now lol.

RF: As a kid, I had glow in the dark star stickers all over my entire room. Not the kind that you could see during the day at all. It was like $30-$40 for a pack of who knows how many. But every night when I went to bed, I would explore the sky in my room that wrapped around down the walls.

Yeah, I've spent hours doing that. One of the professors of a physics research group has his office near my lab. I pass it every morning, and he has Hubble photos out on his board. I think I've completely lost track of time just standing in front of it before.

Another random fact: I often wonder if we could physically see atoms (after slowing them way down as well), if they would be fascinating to stare at since I feel like they would have some resemblance to solar systems, just on the completely opposite side of the scale.

I wish I were dedicated/patient enough to actually learn where numerous constellations were/how to identify them. I always get frustrated after a while or completely side-tracked with losing myself in the night time sky. My parents live out in the middle of nowhere, so everytime I get back here (almost always during the night) I typically get out of my truck and just stare upwards for a while.

Haha... I don't typically admit to these things either, but since you guys seem to share an appreciation... :)

And... yeah, that site seems like it'd be awesome. Thanks for sharing the link.

Here is one of the pictures I took tonight. I just spent over an hour snapping photos of Jupiter. It took so long mainly because it was really dark, and I couldn't see the buttons on my camera. I'm not familiar with it enough to use it without seeing the labels on the buttons. I also have really no idea what settings would be optimal for getting a better shot. I might have a few that turned out better, but I'm tired, and this one is resolved enough to make out at least 4 unique bodies... probably 5. I'm also guessing that the moons are visible because they are the large.

So, even though I could be wrong, I'm imagining and thinking it's pretty crazy that I'm taking snap shots of the same objects in the sky that Galileo discovered over 400 years ago.

First of all, I was a rebel. I refused to celebrate Christmas (not religious, so I shouldn't) and New Year (since you might as well celebrate any other day as the new year. That day got lucky it was during winter time and people needed some day to celebrate and etc.)
Second of all, my dad ruined it.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad audio isn't attached to the photos because when I saw I had gotten some of those shots I might have started screaming like a little girl. :D

LOL...little girl. Oh boy!

I like the Canon 60D, my wife has one for work and I played with it once. Freaking awesome. Although my dream is the Nikon 7100, camera is insanely expensive.

Yeah. This camera is being used as my "entry" DSLR. Sony is most likely going to announce its new models soon, and apparently the rumors say they are going to be ridiculously good spec-wise. I haven't invested very much in lenses or anything yet. I might be able to switch brands when I get ready to start dropping major money into this stuff, but for now, I can't say I'm finding my camera inadequate. There are already some things where I can see how it'd be nice to have something higher end, but with my skill level, this is going to be great for as long as I can make it last :)

But I really am going to start a "photography" budget...this has been a really cool weekend. I shot ~1,200 shots, and have a ton of pictures that'll probably be displayed in my new apartment.

Ok, so it wasn't *exactly* like a little girl... but my dad did say he had heard I got a shot that had made me happy, and he was watching T.V. really loudly in the basement haha. It was an eventful moment... waiting for the camera to actually process that image was the longest 10 seconds or so that I've had in a long time. :p

Yeah, those look a bit closer than they actually were as well. Those are definitely cropped photos. But... they were still close enough to startle me a bit. :)

That's unfortunate. I've been electrocuted by a lot of things before, but lightning related is not one of those things and I'm glad.

I haven't shot anything since the vacation and still have my Alcatraz pictures to mess around with. *sigh* Unfortunately aside from the wife's DSLR's all we have is point and shoot but my p'n's has manual features to it that I mess with from time to time. If I can just get away from this freaking laptop long enough to shoot I would be alright....

And here I thought me and my mom were bad. We once took 800ish pictures on one day. :D Together, obviously both with our own camera.

But yeah, I too am planning to save for a huge camera with huge lenses, because my old one just doesn't do it for me anymore. It was medium budget 4 years or so ago, so no, I want better. I want my mom's current one. :p

What I gather from reading posts is that the gifters are people that believe Add is a gift or that there are at least some postive aspects to it.

Some people feel that the gifter attitude trivalizes add.

how is ryan reynolds being deadpool an insult to character? is it because the 'deadpool' from Wolverine: Origins movie was completely *******ized? if so, well no movie based of comics is EVER accurate (although i hear captain america is pretty close to original) ryan reynolds does actually like deadpool comics and is interested in a deadpool movie, and considering deadpool's shenanigans and humor, he'd be good for that role.

why not both? basically when i do sleep with a girl, it's gonna end with me sleep spooning. as ive said, i always have had to hold something in my sleep. so i can see in the future a funny situation where a girl has to get something, and im asleep and wont let go, she tries, i just grunt. then she just gives up. win

Jeans, a shirt, and some form of full coverage shoes, whether that means I wear Sanuk's or some kind of running shoe. As soon as I get back to my place though, the jeans instantly get changed and a pair of gym shorts and a fresh pair of socks go on.

Ahhh, but there isn't one :( Women are like ADHD medication. The type that's right for your buddy, may not be right for you. Some are better in small doses and others you'll need in larger doses before you see any benefit. You'll just have to keep trying new ones until you find the right one for you :)

Yes, and if she sticks around for awhile you can change her name to Concerta or Vyvanse. Perhaps Strattera, if she's not very stimulating. :D

Be careful with the generic one's though. They may look like the originals--the one's that had potential or worked out well but were just too expensive. They may be cheaper, but the effects might not be the same!

You can now view the dating world in a whole new way! :p

Nope. I'd see Pee Wee when I closed my eyes..... Tragic and unfair, I know.
I once had a friend named Mordecai but went by Motyl. No matter how hard I tried not to, I always thought of the meek tailor named Motel from Fiddler on the Roof. The one Tevye runs over and doesn't take seriously until he marries his daughter.
