Adam Carolla went on a passionate spiel on the beauty of how much totalled up time he shaves off of pressing buttons and waiting for his reheated food by just pressing the same 'second' button twice, or something like that, and then start. Those seconds might just break even with his "total time angrily bloviating about saving time" seconds.

Ha! I do that too. Why move your finger all the way over to the zero when it won't make much difference to your foods heat?

My tooth has been killing me all day. It needs to be removed, but I can't afford it. :(

And, because my tooth is hurting so bad, I can't tell how the Klonopin with the Adderall works together, because all I can feel is this splitting headache on the right side of my head near my temple. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/6064/frowny.gif

I can't promise this will work - but it did for me. If you have liquid benadryl (kids) - dip a qtip in it and rub around the area, on the tooth if you can tolerate.
If you have it in a pill form - crush or open capsule, mix with a tiny bit of water to make a paste. Apply to tooth and area around.

It does something to numb the nerves.

I don't drink bottled water, I drink spring water from this park nearby that lets water customers fill as many jugs as they want for a quarter a gallon. It's very fresh. :D

I don't particularly care for the taste of the water that comes out of the sink. I think ours tastes slightly salty and weird. The bottled water tastes odd too. I mean I'll drink tap if I'm at a restaurant, but I can always tell when it's tap water.

And also, at the risk of sounding uncool, you just never know what weird chemicals and things are in that tap water. :p

This may be a ignorant question, yet I've seen it in "facts", but do you think your shoplifting had anything to do with ADHD or just a kid who wanted something, or wanted to see if they could get away with it?

I'm asking because at this point in my life, I would never have the desire to shoplift. However I did a few times when I was a teen (never got caught -phew!).
I'm sure I should start this in a whole new thread.....

Sometimes it makes me feel awful when I feel as though I haven't lived up to someone's expectations (makes me want to cry).:(

As I get older, the one thing that seems to make me wonder is, why do people feel they have to live up to anyone else's expectations but their own?

I may not be where my father expected me to be in life. But had I gone the route he wanted - I am pretty sure the road there would have been miserable and don't think I'd be happy at that place anyway.

ArtGypsy
02-14-11, 03:22 PM
Two things I have learned at this point in my life is that no one can make me happy but myself - and to stop looking to anyone else to make me happy.

And the other is not to worry about living up to what we THINK others expect of us and not to expect other to do the same. Because that would be them asking us to change or us expecting them to change for us.
If you are not happy with who you are or where you are in life - then make a change for the better for YOU.

Maybe you ADDers would understand my obsession (even if not the object of the obsession). I was stressed and depressed and late September I took off to NYC. Only stayed a few days. Wish it was longer. I was on a Ramones pilgrimage. You know how some people HAVE to go to Graceland or walk across Abbey Road? I'm currently obsessed with Joey Ramone. My husband and other people think it was stupid of me to do. But I DON'T REGRET IT AT ALL!!!! I FELL IN LOVE WITH NEW YORK!!!! I had an affair with a city! And I didn't do any normal touristy things! And I seriously felt like it was Joey Ramone's spirit (he's been dead for almost 10 years) showing me around. He loved his city and the love spilled over to me. I walked around talking to him! (quietly so people don't think I was nuts). I jokingly told him he'd have to pay his way into the Bowery Electric (a club by his street. He loved music). I stepped in the doors and there was a big cardboard cutout of him! I LOVED MY TRIP AND I'M TEMPTED TO GO BACK IN MAY!!! (a big birthday bash held every year honoring Joey Ramone.) Husband thinks I need to grow up.

Last night, in short, I had a dream that I was shot at by someone I didn't even know, who was then shot by someone whose auto body-type shop I was visiting for inexplicable reasons. I then visited the person in the hospital, where the ICU was divided up into rows depending on the status of the patient. In one of the rows, most of the beds just contained pairs of headphones. I never found his, I don't think.

Wellbutrin makes for insane dreams!

Sounds suspiciously like mania. But welcome back.

I've thought the same... (look at how many thanks I've given???).

My peace is this: thanks = to encourage more from a poster, to show that a post was read (to show caring?)... important whether or not I agree with a post or view point, or how much impact it is to me and my life... because I value diversity and know diversity gives health and robustness to any system (genetic or cultural, etc). I believe all should be rewarded and noticed for participation, which I think, is one of the hardest thing to get people to do (besides sleep, eat healthy and exercise... heh).

rep points = when I *really* fancy a post.

Raw hamburger? EWWW I can only imagine how mushy it is. IDK about the taste, the horse didn't really taste like anything but it could have been the fact that it was frozen and I was chewing at the speed of light to get it down. The texture was what I couldn't stomach.

I used to have a pet ball python, although I don't think you can classify snakes as pets. For it to be a pet, there has to be somekinda two-way bond between owner and animal, and snakes don't even bond to their own offspring.

Only kinda watched because Jack Nicholson was being filmed inside of a cafe so we didn't really see anything. He came out and onlookers cheered, "Good job!". How would they know! Lol. I had him sign my Head DVD movie case. The movie he made with the Monkees way back when.

When they completed filming, they had a garage sale of all the props so they wouldn't have to cart it all back to California. I got a few small items that weren't shown and a very heavy liquor cabinet that you can barely see in the movie.

The side dishes here are the same, just fries but kids meals you can get a bowl of corn instead of fries. They have different burgers all the time though and it's fun to try them. Right now they are doing the "Big America" burgers and this weeks(or months, I've never figured out their actual timeline) is the Miami Burger. I like the Shaka Shaka chicken which is just a piece of breaded chicken that comes in a bag and with a flavor powder packet. I was in a commercial as an extra long ago. Another "barely" but cool enough! My husband and I went over to the casinos one night (not big Vegasy casinos. This is in Council Bluffs, Iowa) and they happened to be filming a commercial for their casino. I'm sometimes more fascinated by extras instead of the stars so I jumped at it. I'm a Leo so I have the perfect sign. Lol. Also very camera shy. Act natural? What's that? I'm trying not to make a stupid face! I do wish I can act!!!! But for a very split second, you can see my back. I had on a denim shirt and denim jeans the same color. Big fashion no no! But it was fun and I got a video tape in the mail a few months later. As soon as I can "act", I'd love to be an extra again. There is a good school/theater here (where Peter Fonda went.) so there is hope....

So many choices!

Do I want a Ford van or a Chevy van? Do I want a long one? Do I want a conversion? Do I want a pop top? Do I want to pull a tiny trailer behind the van..cuz no matter how I figure it,a van will not carry enough water for me AND my beast(in the summer he drinks 2,3 or sometimes 4 gals a day). Or should I just get a little motor home and pull my little explorer behind?

Yeesh! So I just keep scouring the want ads and van forums and see what's best for me and the beast.

The best way to describe it is by this quote from Temple Grandin..."My mind is similar to an Internet search engine that searches for photographs. I use language to narrate the photo-realistic pictures that pop up in my imagination. When I design equipment for the cattle industry, I can test run it in my imagination similar to a virtual reality computer program. All my thinking is associative and not linear. To form concepts, I sort pictures into categories similar to computer files. To form the concept of orange, I see many different orange objects, such as oranges, pumpkins, orange juice and marmalade."

My ability to do this is nowhere as near as strong as Temple Grandins'. She is such an amazining person. I higly recommend reading her books. HBO also did a ovie about her.

I was a mechanic on motorized scooters (Vespa like ones, not Hoverrounds :p) until one day I got cut off and wrecked. Ended up getting 34 stitches in my leg and pretty mean roadrash. Also got laid off 2 weeks later. Now when I try and ride a motorcycle or a quad I get really bad panic attacks freeze up. It's the only time in my life I've even gotten a bad panic attack.

My mom thinks I share too much. I can't help it; I accept myself. The past is the past. Mom thinks, "What would the family think?" Uh, that I'm not perfect? And I admit my mistakes? She also says something like my past could screw up my brother since he's in the military. And the past could come back to haunt me. Potential employers, etc. Whatever. So I say as long as your comfortable with it and doesn't involve flag burning or something else that could get you in trouble, share away!

Tommy Wilhelm
02-24-11, 08:41 PM
I feel a bit paranoid about posting things on the internet; but when I'm in a good mood, for some reason I just like to talk about my personal life. Being careful doesn't seem worth it. Maybe this is utopian, but I feel like maybe, eventually, employers will start to realize that they're shooting themselves in the foot by going diversity hunting on the internet. Maybe their competitors will beat them, with their more honest or more creative workforces. Wow; that does sound utopian, now that I type it out.

No, it's more like the (mumble, mumble) who are probably (mumble, mumble) might notice, and then we'd be (mumble, mumble). Because the thing that happened is that the (mumble, mumble) didn't (mumble) our (mumble) in time , so technically we're (mumble, mumble) and could be (mumble, mumble) at a moment's notice :(. To sort it out, we thought we'd have to (mumble, mumble) of around $(mumble, mumble), but then they said they'd (mumble, mumble) instead . So now, DH has to (mumble, mumble) and (mumble), and possibly go to (Mumble) in a few weeks, provided we get the (mumble, mumble) before that. Otherwise, we're (mumble).

Is that clear? :p

This makes me want to learn Latin; not the content, but the sound:

Bella per Emathios plus quam civilia campos
iusque datum sceleri canimus, populumque potentem
in sua victrici conuersum viscera dextra
cognatasque acies, et rupto foedere regni
certatum totis concussi viribus orbis
in commune nefas, infestisque obvia signis
signa, pares aquilas et pila minantia pilis.

Wars worse than civil on Emathian plains,
and crime let loose we sing; how Rome's high race
plunged in her vitals her victorious sword;
armies akin embattled, with the force
of all the shaken earth bent on the fray;
and burst asunder, to the common guilt,
a kingdom's compact; eagle with eagle met,
standard to standard, spear opposed to spear.

Back when I was new to the internet, I used to be very outgoing online (opposite to how I was in real life), and made dozens of friends from all over the world I met in chat rooms.

I've voice chatted with people from: China, India, Australia, Colombia, Panama, Canada, Mauritius, South Africa, England, Scotland, Germany, and of course, the US. :D
And have text chatted to others from even more places, and have met some interesting people.

I've learned so much during those times. :)
