I know that your schooling is quite different to ours but i am so happy with the scool today i just had to share :)

background first-

John has two IEPS already one for his behaviour and one for helping him learn how to read

John is 7 and will be going in to 3rd year in sept

in reception, yrs 1 and 2 they also have a teachers helper but when they get into 3rd yrs its just the teacher

His teachers and teachers helpers have been good so far and have been abel to put a lot of extra work in on John and his needs over and above his IEPS

I have been speaking to his head teacher voicing my concerns(you now how we mums do) for John when there is not going to be that extra help he needs in class and how he is going to manage

wow what i result i got - she is going to put him forward to get a statement (a very hard thing to get) and will make sure that even if the statement isnt in place by then(which it probably wont be as its quite a long process) she will make sure that he will have extra help come sept

Im just so happy :D :D :D

YAY! That is great!

I am going to try to get my oldest son an IEP this next school year. He is 16 and going into 11th grade so it is pretty late, but I am hoping it will help.

He's very bright, he's even in the "gifted" program, but if you were to look at his grades you would not be able to tell. Grades are a very linear way to judge students.

thanks you two, it was just so nice that i felt i had to share, as so many things seem to be quite negative lately that a positive one has just put me on a high :D
