My son is currently doing credit recovery through summer school, with Plato Learning, and is excelling. He started his Adderall the first day of school...and has been able to hyper-focus, and actually make progress.

I've seen a bit of how Plato works....by whittling down the chapters into a quicker, more manageable format. At least, this is my take.

I'm bringing this here so that I can get input from teachers. Is this a dumbing down of education - or an allowance for those who have issues focusing (for whatever reason)?

I think Socrates would be a better approach. All you need is a computer and a Google Search Engine. Ask Google what you are curious about. Bookmark important facts. Find a few games associated with your topic. Spend all day playing forum games like Acronym. Life is one big quest with few answers. Just say no to books. They are inferior to information you can find on the World Wide Web.
