Andrew 07-07-04, 12:06 AM MRB...Advil and Ritalin? Tara 07-07-04, 12:31 AM I take Ibuprofin with my Ritalin a lot. I have not had any bad experiences or heard of any side effects. paulbf 07-07-04, 12:53 AM Both the non-aspirins are bad for your liver (especially with alcohol) and so is ritalin. I think plain old aspirin is safer (I'm not a doctor and might be mistaken). Tara 07-07-04, 03:06 AM I don't mean I take ton of Ibuprofen but that I have taken the two together on many different occasions. Penultimate 07-07-04, 08:11 AM Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) is not bad for the liver. That’s Acetaminophen (Tylenol, Anacin3). I avoid Acetaminophen like the plague. Ibuprofen does cause stomach problems in some people. Overdose of Ibuprofen can cause ulcers and internal bleeding. Alcohol can make that worse. I have taken this stuff for years with no problems. I think it is the best pain reliever because it is an anti-inflammatory as well. It has been shown to have the same effect on the heart that aspirin does. Mixing pain relievers with stimulants should be okay in small doses. In fact many pain relievers contain caffeine. For example Excedrin is Acetaminophen plus caffeine and Anacin is aspirin plus caffeine. It might not be a good idea to take one of the ones with caffeine together with Ritalin but other than that it should be okay. |
