"The main thesis of The Indigo Children is that many children diagnosed as having attention deficit disorder (ADD) or ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) are actually space aliens."

Hmm, I thought it was more like a new evolutionary feature, almost like a religious coming of god in certain people to help save the world. I haven't read the book but didn't like that article brushing it off so completely. The best part of these ideas is the same thing behind the notion of "gift versus disorder or difference".

i haven't read the book either, and that sort of disqualifies me from having an opinion on this subject, but i'd just like to mention that before i was diagnosed, i used to "think"/feel as if i really was from a different planet - i didn't understand *why* people ("they") behaved in the way they did (and *do*) or said the things they said (and *say*)...
there were just so many things i couldn't figure out about other people, and thus i felt like "an alien"...
:o
after being diagnosed, i've heard other people with neuropsychiatric conditions/disorders (mainly those with asperger syndrome) say they used to (or *still do*) feel that way too...
:D
na-noo, na-noo to you all!
(and, *yes*: i watched "mork & mindy" religiously when i was a child!;-)
