Can anyone with OCD relate to the TV show "Monk"?

monk rules!!! I don't watch it as often as I would like, but I can relate to some of the non germophobic type stuff ehheheehe

I am just thankful my OCD is not that bad.

But even, is very important.

I watched it last week and the episode showed him having to try to rescue his brother out of a burning house..and on his way through it, he stopped to straighten a couple of books in a stack. I was like OMG OCD overload! lmao

It's my favorite show....i relate to seeing things other don't...outside the box thinking.

Ummmm, I AM THE MONK! LMAO!!!!! And for those who know me, they would DEFINITLY AGREE. And if those books in that stack needed straightened, you just cant expect me or the monk to walk on by!

Im in the UK - what channel is it on and when - my son has OCD and has a great sense of humour.

I personally don't find a lot of humor in how Hollywood portrays OCD through such productions as "Monk" and "As Good As It Gets". If it helps some of you with OCD to laugh, then good. For me, I view it as the outside world laughing at OCD and not really understanding the severity.

I've had a hard time really making my family understand how disabling and painful OCD at its worst can be. Unless someone has had it, it's hard to show how awful it is to be a prisoner of your own thoughts that you just can't get away from and the rituals that prevent you from carrying on normally.

As I said, if it's comedic therapy for some, good....

I always button my top button like monk does.

I love Monk, I can relate to taking hours to do something that could take a second-but mine is for a different reason-cause I am slow.
