"brain gym is used widely by adults, children, and seniors to bring about rapid and often dramatic improvements in concentration, memory, reading, organization skills, language and number skills, writing, speaking, athletic performance and more..."

Does anyone use brain gym? Years ago I received training in it for my job, but I had trouble believing in it. Seemed like a lot of hocus-pocus.

Has anyone here used brain gym techniques on a consistent basis?
What benefits, if any, did you see?

I suppose the theory is sound. Either it didn't work for you because you didn't believe in it, or it didn't work for you because it doesn't work. ;) You have more practical experience with it than I do. I haven't heard of them before.

What types of exercises would they have you do?

Does it cost money for the brain gym? People have mentioned that you have to exercise your brain like the rest of the body.

I also saw the exercises years ago. I was working with Special Education children and was doing the exercises with one of my students. I wasn't sure of the benefit of it, but she was no-verbal so it wasn't like she could tell me that it was helping her concentrate. She did seem to enjoy it most days though, and I did find her to be more attentive afterwards, so it might be worth a try.

I think we got the exercises from a workbook, but I suspect someone (maybe her mom) had brought it in for us.

Sorry I can't be of more help... but it does remind me that maybe I should check it out too.
