One of the hardest questions I had to think about was a couple of years ago. A doctor asked me what do you do to release stress. I sat and thought for a long time and could not come up with a answer. I know I take stress in but what happens to it from there I have no idea. He said it was not good to hold stress in and to find away to let it go, but still till this day I have no idea what happens to it.
Can anybody really say how they handle/release stress?
Are you looking for healthy ways or the ways we actually deal with stress?
I have several ways that I get rid of stress besides biting someones head off and eating children for lunch..;)
I play video games, read, meditate, surf the net(if the computer isn't acting up which just adds to the stress), cook, garden & go fishing.
Here's a cute saying that ya might get a giggle out of..I have this as a bumper sticker on our suburban.
STRESS: The confusion that one gets when the mind over rides the bodies basic desire to choke the crap out of some idiot who really deserves it.

Positive things and/or things that don't hurt me: Swim; take a walk; surf the net; read junk magazines; go for a car ride; talk on the phone; watch TV; rent a movie; sleep; browse in a mall; out for coffee/tea; listen to music; journal
Negative things: Eat too much; daydream about men; waste time; spend money I shouldn't; feel sorry for myself; complain;

I *****. I ***** for 20 minutes, either out loud (to myself) or typed. I ***** that the weather is too hot and no one is fair and no one loves me and my son is an eejit and i can't take it anymore and when i get done i feel a whole lot better. Sometimes i do all the healthy things spirit and joan do, but not usually.
well honestly, I deal with stress in 2 ways.
The first is by yelling, screaming, saying things I do not mea. The reality is this just causes more stress and gets others upset and stressed out.
The second and more healthy way is to take a walk, have a bath, crank some tunes, talk to a friend.
Unfortunately, sometimes when i am stressed I react first think second (as Im sure others do) and that means I do not always choose the healthiest of the two. Tnen I need to go back and make things better. Sometimes I try to give myself a time out but if one of my children is causeing the stress that does not work cause they just follow me around anyway!!!!!!:p

I deal with stress by going to the gym or a swim i find that really helps me cope with the rest of the day. If by the evening im way stressed again which is usually alot i put music on something with a good beat, and do my paintings by the end of the evening im am collect and calm again and ready for the next day!!!

MAY THE ROAD ALWAYS RISE UP TO MEET YOU!!
I work
I am rebuilding my house from top to bottom so I go and rip and tear a room apart or start rebuilding it the way I want it
the original owner had some really strange ideas about what was a logical way to lay out a house
He certanly didnt have ADD as nothing is easy access
I think straight people get pleasure out of living in a house where you have to walk 10 extra steps to go outside from the workshop
10 extra steps x2 (going out then back in) x 112 times a day
x 365 days a year x1.3 years average time I own a house befour I sell it and buy a new one to rip apart)
@ 1.5 feet to a step that works out to
301.954545454545454545454545454545 extra miles
that I have to walk to go outside
Can you tell that I dont feel like making the move to go to work toaday and would rather sit here and play
Oh well My Big Truck is Calling Me
Cant you hear it
"Come Play with Me " its saying
"Come Play with Me "
