I have been fascinated by the algorithm for a few years now and have finally been focused enough thanks to medication to peer into it's allure.

An algorithm is a finite procedure, written in a fixed symbolic vocabulary, governed by precise instructions, moving in discrete steps, 1,2,3....., whose execution requires no insight, cleverness, intuition, intelligence, or perspicuity, and that sooner or later comes to an end.

Since I am really just beginning to understand these critters I will start posting flowcharts of mundane operations that are organized into a flowchart.

I think this algorithm is to find the number that starts the fibonacci sequence.

This is interesting if you've ever tried to find the right anti-depressant.

this would come in handy if you were crossbreeding and trying to make a new variant.:cool:

Yes, you have the proper idea here. Remember this abbreviation: KISS - keep it simple stupid - this will help with programming immensely.

I believe if I still have the correct understanding a simple algorithm in code form could look like:

if(!toast < toast_cook_interval) {
cook_toast();
}
else {
stop_toast();
}

This is an algorithm:
