Comments: Karen Madura and Personal Growth Center provides quality counseling using the state of the art techniques. Treatment is goal oriented and skills learned are applicable to other situations in the client's future. The technique of focusing on strengths and positives, is a technique that naturally leads to a reduction in unwanted behavior and an increase in behaviors that the client is seeking. In only a few sessions clients will begin to broaden their view and lessen their pain. They will feel less stuck, limited, and have an increased awareness of their options which would lead to that ability to make informed decisions.

I am attempting to get a single place for people to go when they are looking for professional in their region to help with ADD - if you know a good reputable health care practitioner that treats adults with ADD by all mean do share - if one really really sucks then by all means do share that to -

With that said:

Please be advised readers are responsible for all research into any and all health care professionals as well as baring the sole responsibility for final ADD treatment decisions. ADDF doesn't recommend or endorse any one and all opinions shared by the member are the opinions of that member and in no way reflects the opinion of ADDF as a community

Although I won't delete recommendations for children I am mostly looking for adult ADD care

In the mean time I do have a collection of directories located in the diagnosis section than may be of use to some Where Can I Find a Health Care Professional? (http://www.addforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33989)

This article is from NJ.com Wednesday, August 13, 2008....

Is this the guy that is advertised here in this thread From Toms River New Jersey?

A judge Tuesday ordered a Toms River Presbyterian minister to surrender his license to practice social work and to be admitted to a pretrial intervention program, according to a report (http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080813/NEWS02/808130405/1070)in the Asbury Park Press.
The Rev. Brian C. Swedberg, 53, oversaw the financial affairs of incapacitated individuals and was later accused of stealing their money, the report said.
"This is a big one for us," Ocean County Surrogate Jeffrey W. Moran told the paper Tuesday after receiving Superior Court Judge Barbara Ann Villano's written order, dated Monday.

In 2006, Swedberg was indicted on 17 counts of theft, three counts of false swearing, two counts of contempt of court and one count of misapplication of entrusted property.
Authorities have said Swedberg stole more than $200,000 from 20 people whose financial affairs he was appointed to oversee.
Of those people, 19 were incapacitated senior citizens, and one was a juvenile over whose trust fund Swedberg had legal oversight.

If you don't mind an hour drive to monmout junction my doctors great! I been with her for 12 years and she's very open and willing to discuss medication options from stimulants to antidepressants to benzos and sleep meds. I'm not saying you need all these just letting you know. She tends to take a more agressive approach with adhd and usually a stimulant is in order. For me at leats.

Dammit, all these providers are in places I USED to live by.

Can anyone suggest a provider in the Monmouth County shore area? Preferably with sliding scale fees, I don't have insurance. Well, I have a bare-bones insurance through my school, but they don't seem to have many providers in its network and barely covers specialists within the network.

Or does anybody know of hospitals that specialize in ADHD? I went to the behavioral health clinic at Monmouth Medical, but the psychiatrist I saw was absolutely atrocious, I don't think he believes ADHD exists. Thanks in advance!

From my experience so far, In Monmouth County the psychiatrists are not really specialized in Adult ADHD. They will not spend the proper time to figure out the right treatment method for you, and will prescribe any low dosage stimulant and send you on your way. Please keep us posted if you find a good psychiatrist that specializes specifically in adult ADHD in Monmouth County.
