Hi everyone!

I'm new to the board and fairly new to realizing the impact ADD has on my life. On to my plea for help :).

I work at a hospital repairing medical equipment. I have had some problems with organization, documentation of work, ect ect. All things ADDers are quite used to. I started on medication in January and have made vast improvements. In the interm, my boss was out for maternity leave and hasnt really seen the improvements I have made. She has come back and as of this past monday, told me she is moving me to other areas of responsibility, citing the disorganization and lack of documention as her reasons. I had recently informed her of the ADD perhaps 6 weeks ago or so. I do not want to change my responsibilites, I enjoy what I'm doing now. Its not a pay cut but it feels like a demotion, not to mention I had no opportunity to correct any of the problems she was quoting. I also have not had any feedback from her positive or negative for over a year. I have worked so hard this past 4 months and to be hit with this is very frustrating.

Does anyone know if Americans with Disabilities Act can be used here?

Thanks

Rob

It should be covered under the ADA but the AD/HD should be documented in writing.

So should I look for a lawyer to seek legal action?

It may be a good idea to talk to an attorney to see what your rights are.

I do too... It's natural (expecially for an ADDer) to have a burst of enthusiasm for the forum when you first find it, then to ease off a bit - and it's pretty natural for many to drift away, but for those who 'stay on' it's mildly, well, anti-climactic, let's say. If you're realistic, you accept the easy-come/easy-go, commitment-free nature of the place (that's how we want it to be, after all), but nevertheless you get slightly involved in people's 'stories' - enough to wonder how they are etc. I have wondered in this way what became of a couple of other members too.

Great points Jonathan...:)

And me too--I have wondered about several other members, in fact.....

Some were BIGTIME posters for quite awhile, and then, it's like they dropped off the face off the earth....:(
