Is this a side effect of this med or am I loosing my mind? I have been on 150 mg for one week and 300 mg for the last 10 days. I CANNOT stop salivating.....This has never happened to me before, so I am attributing it to the med. I cant swallow enough. I first noticed it yesterday and today is worse=(....anybody? Also, I am fearful that yesterday I may have taken the pill twice. I so often start to do something and become distracted with something else. Anyway, I thought I got sidetracked and didnt take it but after I took it, I panicked that I had taken it the hour before....ack!!! How can a scatterbrained add person be expected to medicate themselves?? Could my possible overdose be causing my prob? help

I had a bit of the extra salivation with the Wellbutrin, but I think it stopped...either that or I no longer notice it. I'm on 300mg/day and my only side effect is some tinnitus (ringing in the ears), but the results of the Wellbutrin are well worth the tinnitus for me.

I have the opposite problem in that it gives me a dry mouth.

The extra saliva is probably a side effect of the Wellbutrin. On the information sheet I have it lists the incidence of excess saliva at 4% vs 1.6% for a placebo.
I wouldn't worry too much about the "overdose", it's not going to have any lasting effects - but it would be a good idea to come up with a system to avoid it. I sometimes have the same problem with my dexedrine. What I do is put my total daily dose of pills into a seperate, smaller medicine bottle first thing in the morning when I take the first dose, so that if I'm not sure if I've taken it, I just count the few pills in the bottle and I can tell. It's a good idea to get into the habit of taking your pills at the same time each day - that can reduce the confusion as well.
