I don't want to play a game that I can't win, lol. Besides, FrazzleDazzle has to be the most talented photographer down here in this forum, and I don't want to get whooped.

I don't personally like the idea of a competition based on "thanks", as it could be a popularity contest, and I won't win that one either.:)

What if you just challenged everyone to go out and take photos during the month of February and to post their favorites here? You could do the same thing each month, inspiring us to get out and take some new pics to share. I'd play along. No competition, just friendly sharing amongst friends.

By the way, I LOVE that prickly purple flower that is your first picture. Man, seeing all of the new posts lately with photos makes me want to get out sooooooooo bad.

Well weather its a poll or thanks, it could be a popularity contest...Either way, just post your favorites here and don't worry about the competition part then :D
Its too late to edit the title, so next month I'll just do a "Your best photo's" or something. For now, lets do this.

Thanks for the compliment on the purple spiky thing, I have no idea what it is but I found it on a random stroll in a beautiful bed of wildflowers. All the other flowers and plants above are wild too.

Okay, I'll play. I'll see your flowers, and raise you a different type of wildlife. From back in September, a trip to Bernheim Forest and a fishing trip on the Ohio River, here's some pics:

I recently bought a little light tent for taking photos of objects indoors while controlling the lighting a bit. We had some flowers over the summer in our garden that my wife put in a vase, along with another vase with store-bought flowers in it. Here's some photos that I got by playing around with my new toy:

Hmm . . . Since everyone else seems to have gone the wild-life route, I'll post some of my non-wildlife photos. That, and for some reason ADDF hates my giraffe photos and refuses to upload them :(.

You and me both ;). I'm having a lot of fun, but only have a point & shoot camera that does a serviceable job (though I'd like to learn how to adjust the exposure b/c the results can be a bit washed out); The other camera I own I bought specifically because it had a manual focus option, but I could never get it to work because the viewfinder was digital and grainy itself, so I could never tell if I was actually in focus. :(

I am not a big fan of the DSLR's although I know they would make the pictures so much nicer looking. I used to try my wife's camera out, even on Auto I would have way too much camera shake.

These are with a point and shoot that I got for christmas, it has manual features along with the auto settings so I spent the entire time playing with apature settings. Totally forgot to look at the other settings so I had it on tungsten the entire time and it left a funky blue hue to everything. Thank goodness for Photoshop or else I would've trashed all of the shots.

I only can eat banana's when they are really ripe like that. Almost when they mush, but before they turn brown.

Hey, is this Feb. photo comp. over?

I didn't forget! Memory of an elephant...On some days. But I think we decided in the first few posts it would be a "just posts pictures here" instead of a competition. If not, looks like Sighduck got the most thanks!

I like the idea of a photo contest. It would be easier to appreciate each individual photo if they were posted separately one per post. Tha would also make it easier to vote for my favorite photo as well.

:) I thought it was a wonderful suggestion; I nodded in agreement when I read your post, I swear . . . I just didn't put my agreement in writing, which is absolutely useless on the forums.
