No. I have looked and come close a few times but they either turned out be artificial or not quite blue. So sadly no. Iíve been sent some lovely images of blue roses by forum members though. :)

Because on the 24th of this month (Feb) I will have been on this forum three years, and I would like to reach 4,000 posts as part of my celebration - besides, itĎs fun!!!! :p

May I give multiple questions? *smirks* I'm a bit ambitious.
-We humans are all made up of carbon, nitrogen, water, etc. but what makes us living? As in, how does our brain think, how does our heart pump, and how can we have thoughts and acute feelings?
-Where does the wind come from?
-Why do we blush? It seems to defy Darwin's theory of evolution (this statement isn't to make a flame war), why would humans show when they're lying, cheating, or stressed?
-If roses are red and violets are blue, what's the colour violet? O_O
-How ya' doing?
-Is time travel possible?
-London= Scotland? Whuuut? -_-
-By the way, do you like haggis and neeps?

My guess is that toothpick hasn't yet thought of one worthy enough to add to the bottom of all his wonderful posts. :)

Q - We humans are all made up of carbon, nitrogen, water, etc. but what makes us living? As in, how does our brain think, how does our heart pump, and how can we have thoughts and acute feelings?

A - Despite rapid scientific progress, much about what makes us tick still remains a mystery.

Q - Where does the wind come from?

A - Hot air rises, and cold air rushes in to take its place causing wind.

Q - Why do we blush? It seems to defy Darwin's theory of evolution (this statement isn't to make a flame war), why would humans show when they're lying, cheating, or stressed?

A - I donít blush so I have never given it much thought.
I tend to avoid major Darwinism dilemmas - they give me a headache. :)

Q - If roses are red and violets are blue, what's the colour violet?

A - Violet is a colour - a kinda bluish purple.

Q - How ya' doing?

A - I'm doin Good. You? :)

Q - Is time travel possible?

A - With an imagination anything is possible.

Q - London= Scotland? Whuuut?

A - Not sure what you are asking here.

Q - By the way, do you like haggis and neaps?

A - I've only tasted it once when I attended a Burn's Night Supper - it wasn't too bad but not something I would want to have to live on.

I'll field that one :p

When we are embarrassed or stressed, our bodies release adrenaline, a hormone that serves as a natural stimulant. It has various effects on our body, such as increased heart rate, increased breathing, or jolting. Furthermore, adrenaline is also responsible for the dilation of blood vessels, in order to improve blood flow and oxygen distribution in the body. This helps you think faster, which makes sense in a stressful situation (for example, lying). Because the face a lot of veins that dilate, more blood flows towards this part of our body, which causes the reddened look. So given that, you could say blushing is just an unintended side effect of a beneficial reaction.

However, there are a number of alternate theories. According to one, this shows our emotional intelligence, or our capacity to know that we stepped on some line. Some say that this is a way for us to impose society's rules on our bodies, benefiting the greater whole in the long run.

So no, it doesn't really throw evolution a curve ball.

For entertainment purposes here's a few tit-bits of my brush with history.

1) Soldier hubby once did a duty of guarding and escorting the man who carries the black rode thingy. This guy knocks on the doors of parliament three times with the black rod before being allowed to enter. I never actually visited there myself. :)

2) When stationed in Berlin hubby got the duty of guarding the only prisoner of war crimes left, the only prisoner in Spandau Prison.....

Rudolf Hess (26 April 1894 - 17 August 1987) Adolf Hitler's Deputy in the Nazi Party. On the eve of war with the Soviet Union, he flew solo to Scotland in an attempt to negotiate peace with the United Kingdom, but instead was arrested. He was tried at Nuremberg and sentenced to life in prison at Spandau Prison, Berlin, where he died in 1987.

3) I met prince Charles twice. He shook my hand. :)

I think he meant to fly to England but ended up in Scotland where he was arrested. I don't really know that much about it.

This might help.

Itís almost midnight here.
Celebrations might have to wait till tomorrow.

And no, nothing much happened here just then.

But I did wonder if you might be referring to the Flying Scotsman - an old Scottish steam train.

I think my brain was just in over-drive. :)

"When I die, my epitaph, or whatever you call those signs on gravestones, is going to read: "I joked about every prominent man of my time, but I never met a man I didnít like." I am so proud of that, I can hardly wait to die so it can be carved." William Penn Adair Rogers (November 4, 1879 Ė August 15, 1935)

So to answer your question -

"I never met a person I didnít like."

This isn't so much a statement as it is a decision. :)

Never had much as a kid, hated school from the day I was dragged in until the day I was kicked out. Thankfully I was a great reader, and I read everything I could get my hands on. Mostly non-fiction in an attempt to heal myself. :)
