Does being focused and concentrated on a task, activity, or just other things like numbers help you remember them better?

I tried to remember a name and a number related to this name today in class and I just forgot it after 5 seconds...or in a chess game I literally forget what my last move was, or any other thing I just forget everything...ahhh:(

I always have to go back and look it up again or look at it again and after the second and the third and the fourth........ time I forget it again.

Why do other people can remember things better?

Repetition. I just go over the same thing again and again and it eventually sticks.

Maybe in chess recite the move in your head, like when someone repeats a name in their head, when first meeting someone, so they don't forget it.

As for remembering things in class - write it down?

Yes okey thank you, but do you think meds help you with this "problem"?

Understanding a meaning to things is how I remember things.

Yes they help with memory. They make my memory a lot stronger and make me understand information a lot quicker.

Attention and working memory influence each other. It's harder to remember something if you don't focus your attention on it, but it's also a lot harder to sustain attention to something if your working memory is not good.
