The Greater Waterbury Mental Health Authority is the single state coordinating agency for the provision of mental health services and addictionservices in the Greater Waterbury, Connecticut area. The persons served are adults with severe and persistent mental illness and/or mental illness and substance abuse addictions. The Catchment Area (20) includes Waterbury and thirteen surrounding towns. In this role the Authority provides access and financial support for such services as case management, residential support, employment, and psychosocial services. Additionally, the Authority provides state financial support for Hospital based crisis, respite services and clinical outpatient support. To complement its coordinating role, the Authority provides some services directly. These services include: access, case management, assertive community treatment, outpatient services and psychosocial programming.
