Hi everyone!

It's really nice to see some activity here in the basement - keep 'em coming!

These are from two weekends ago. Arizona hosts the International Single Action Shooting Society competition and Mounted Shooter's competition out at Ben Avery shooting range. It's a playground for the camera.

Wow, fantastic as always. Love the pic of the little glass things hanging (ornaments? necklaces?). It has quite the oooooh shiny quotient for me. I love glass objects. There's a place in Louisville, just across the river, famous for it's hand-blown glass and such, and we have been there just to watch them do their craft. Wow, I bet you could take some amazing photos in a glass shop.

I agree! Great photo's!

I love Ren Faire's! And those little glass pitchers are awesome! I bet they are meant to hold fairy potion or something mystical like that. :)

Thanks so much, Mike! Those little glass bottles are necklaces all hanging in a row - for patrons to fill with colored sand. They were quite bitty. I love glass and watching glass art as well! I took some at the Faire of a glass artist but he was working on little things and not so interesting to shoot as to just watch.

I really enjoy an event like these, as I take so much more with me than just going without the camera. We are always looking for interesting things to capture that we would have normally missed. My partner is also a very good photographer, with a different eye, view, and perspective, and it's fun to see how we capture the same things in such a different and unique way.

My wife and I did that once, we were shooting her friend's wedding down at Rocky Point in Mexico. It's amazing how the both of us watched the same event at the same time and came up with completely different pictures and perspectives. Plus we both were saying "How did I miss that?" with all the great shots. It was a lot of fun and I hope sometime my wife gets back into photography, for now though she is hyperfocused on working out and losing weight. Not a bad thing but would like a partner in photography crime. :)

As usual FD,breathtaking work! Couple of questions...

What kind of camera do you use?

How would you recommend cleaning a lense that has gotten really dirty(because I'm afraid to mess it up cleaning it the wrong way)?

using a soft lint free cloth and some lens cleaning fluid does the trick for me.

DaneLady, I have a Canon 40D and mostly use the Canon 50mm 1.4 lens on it. For cleaning my lens, I use a little covered lens brush (looks like a little blush brush inside a lipstick case) and it only ever touches the lens (not ever my fingers) to brush off any particles of anything, then use a microfiber cloth I keep in a bag to clean off smudges and the like. Anything needing more work than that, I'd ask the camera shop what they'd recommend. Using liquids on the lens can be hazardous to the coatings.

You just made my day, Dave, thank you! I bopped over to your painting and it is awesome. I'm sorry to hear about your back but impressed that you make the best and positive use of your time.

I recently married, my son is doing well in community college, and all is well here.

Just got the new iphone 4s and it has an awesome camera in it! Here are some strictly iphone photos processed using iphone camera apps. I hope these inspire someone to use these little cameras more, and creatively!

This is actually my wedding bouquet:

Your eye for capturing the hybrid story of an object or the juxtaposition of a objects is awesome. I love looking at your work.
Congratulation on the marriage, I hope it a match made in heaven.
My youngest son has graduated high school and is in his 1st year at college at Iowa State. It's nice being empty nesters, know what I mean LOL.
Look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work.
