This will be a short month because I started this all a little too late. First, some rules for competition...

1. These must be photographs that YOU take.
2. The photographs must be taken this month. I know some of us have great shots from the past but I want to make this into a competition that gets us out and shooting.
3. The Nature I put as the topic is open to interpretation. Whatever you think a Nature photo is, use it.
4. Please keep photographs within the Guidelines of the Forums. This is a family forum that can be viewed by children and adults alike.
5. The voting will occur at the start of next month so the deadline to enter is March 31st. At which time I will post April's topic so we all get a month to play.
6. You can post as many pictures as you want but at the month's end you must come up with one to represent yourself in the voting.

As always good luck to everybody. Can't wait to see what we all come up with. :D

I take it I'm winning so far.

In a landslide. :p

Actually I am going out shooting this sunday, I was going to do it last weekend and just collapsed from exhaustion. This week I feel better. :D

I took this one this week from a session out in my front yard with my yearly crop of California poppies. Taken with my point-and-shoot camera in macro mode and the vibrancy setting hiked up and just a tweek in post-processing. :-)

Let's see some more nature around here! :p

Ooohhh...pretty. Nice shot frazzle. Too bad I have a bad green thumb or else those would look beautiful in my yard. :)

Ahh, the success is only in tossing some seeds down - and truly just letting the rain and the sun and the birds and the bees do their business. Just have to pull the bunches up sometime after they go to seed again and that's easy too.

Still too much for me to remember. LOL
Think one of these weeks I'm going to have to dig up the recently deceased Lime tree and bush in the front yard.

I <3 cactus and things along those family. Even if I forget, they'll always be around. :p

I wanna play, but have been working so much lately that today is the first day I've had off in weeks, and I'm too beat to get out and do much. Heck, right now I can't get off the couch, but I hope to do so later today. Things are just starting to bloom around here, so perhaps I can get something in before the end of the month. It's finally stopped raining for a few days as well, but that's just meant that I have had to go detail cars, thus the exhaustion.

I've been busy also between work and the gym plus the house. I am going out this weekend to shoot and hopefully get a couple nice shots before the end of the month. If not, going to have to figure out something I can do before I announce April's contest.

I have to go to Indianapolis today for the weekend. There's a nature preserve close to the hotel that we're staying at, so hopefully there's something photo-worthy there. I tried to find some places along the way to stop at during the drive up there, but there aren't a whole lot of state parks up that way.

In the meantime, here's the best I've gotten to date. Things are just starting to bloom around here, as we had a week in the 70's, but now we're back into wintry weather, so we'll see how things go. My wife has planted some daffodils, and I love them. They're pretty much the first signs of spring around here, and something that always makes me feel good to see. So, I got a photo of one growing in the bed near our carport. Here ya go:

while i was describing my girlfriend how beautiful the spring in europe is.. she straight away gave me an assignment to get her the pictures of all kinds of flowers around hre.. i never had a particular interest in capturing flowers, so i went around with my handy fuji z10 and took some macro snaps. and my interest grew with time.. i spent a whole day in the palace garden here and now i think i started loving the flowers as well.. http://s3.amazonaws.com/data.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljfn8cvwdq1qhzmdqo1_1280.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId =AKIAJ6IHWSU3BX3X7X3Q&Expires=1302518762&Signature=KwXx7p1PYjNBypWEC8dm4mb5ZH4%3D

Wow, Arlov, that pic of the pink flower is outstanding! I love the focus on that flower. Great shot!

The other one of the field of flowers is cool too. I would like it better without the glare as well, but kind of like the lack of focus.
