    Starting Adderall

I noticed the affects right away. I started on the tablets, then went on to xr capsules, then returned to tabs. Currently, I usually only take it once or twice a week and I always notice the effects within an hour, usually within 20 minutes, at least the amphetamine effects (increased energy and reduced appetite). The capsules had a much more subtle effect on me, so it was harder to notice.

I have it harder than you!

    Wow

As a NTer as you call us...I came to the forum because I was looking for advice on how to better support my son. I don't think there is any such thing as normal, and only a fool thinks there is. I certainly have trouble interacting with my son at times, and do sometimes have difficulty knowing what the right thing to do is in certain situations. Some of this has to do with his age and some of it to do with not really understanding what it is like for him with ADHD. But I don't think it is helpful to view this as an us or them sort of thing. I love my son. I want him to have a full, happy, successful life no matter what he does.

I understand it must be frustrating at times to read posts that just complain about children's behaviours, but there are plenty of us who are looking for help, advice and support as we try to be good parents for our children. I look at a smooth day as one where I have kept my cool, and have felt that I supported/encouraged my son in good ways.

In any case, I have been reading the posts here and there and have appreciated some of your responses.
