Beautiful

Beautiful

Why do we allow the media to
hold our women to a standard of beauty
they can never truly achieve?

Why do we allow the media to
hold our men to a standard of masculinity
they can never truly achieve?

How dare our culture
idolize teenage girls
and make them sex symbols

How dare our culture
be shocked and horrified
when an 15 year old popstar
develops breasts

How dare our culture
react the same way
when years later
that same pop star
gives birth to her child
and sports a Motherís body

I have had male friends and lovers
tell me in whispered confidences
that the look and feel
of a curvaceous body
pleases and excites them
far more than any
bony rear end

Yet they fear to say or show this
because society has told them
they must feel otherwise
How can we do this
to our lovers, sons and brothers?

How can we allow the media
to tell us our instincts are wrong?

How can we let men think
they are wrong
to love the soft curves
of a womanís body?

How can we allow the media
to teach our women
to feel that their curves
are like tumours
on their bodies?

Ad agencies must hire pedophiles
whose purpose and job
is to make women
look like children
with no boobs
no hips
no ***
and no body hair

Somebody do the world a favor
Feed those models and actresses
some real food

Somebody steal the steroids
and hide them
from our athletes and actors

Someone tell our young
men and women
that what lies inside

is 100 times more important
than a size 2 dress
or bulging biceps

We must learn that in the eye of our Gods
our flawed bodies are flawless
our imperfect bodies are perfectly perfect
the way our Gods
and Mother Nature
made them

Let us remember a time
when we lovingly carved the image
of a large, fat, bulbous,
pregnant body of our Mother
set it upon a stone altar
and worshiped Her
in Her perfection

Let us pull those greasy cheeseburgers
from the hands of our obese children
let us take that dressing free salad
out of the hands of our skeletal women
and come together to make
a big olí batch of
Stone soup

Let us eat, drink
and be merry together
naked and without shame
as we did in the old days
when we followed the old ways
and Nature
not McDonalds
or Atkins
ruled

Let us follow in the footsteps
of our proud and free
bra burning mothers
and take those offending magazines
and build a bonfire so bright
those half-starved junkies
in Hollywood will see
even if they close their eyes
to the sight

Let us lift our arms to the sky
and with one voice
tell the world

I am beautiful!!!

    Aye,

Bouncing early sun rays off these eyes
From them spin a theater and tell Mythos
    Eager ears are rarely found
    The intellect is hardly curious

Self told me I don't exist, one did counter, nor do you sir!

We reconsidered our nature but never concluded, for there was tea to drink!

The foil of truth heats up in her eyes,
    Cleaving the glossy entrapping cliche's.
    Bodies unveiled in enchanting array,
    deflating puffed up hypnotic lies.

I don't know if the question of existing is important
I kind of think the question of living is tho.
