A great question was asked in the general forum yesterday by beradical.

Do we fear boredom on a subconscious level?

Some people found my response helpful, so I thought I'd post it here, in case anyone else might be interested.

My first blog post was of a model of explaining a theory I thought up a year ago, on why we procrastinate, why things are boring to us.

This post is a take on why we avoid starting the work itself, which was my reply in this forum thread about anxiety and it's relation to procrastination.

I've been doing a lot of self-study on this topic over the last few years and putting together a framework for me to better understand how my ADHD works. Here's what I can share so far.

-People with ADHD have brains that crave Stimulation (Stim). It makes us seek excitement and avoid boring, mundane tasks.

-At any given moment, we have a 'Stimulation Threshold' of what is interesting or stimulating enough to hold and keep our attention.
