Sitting on my doorstep what do I see
Tucked carefully in the corner a parcel for me
I quickly opened the door stepped outside and looked round
Not a soul was in sight and I heard not a sound
I gazed at the parcel and wondered who
Who leave this here and what ever was I to do
The parcel was wrapped in bright paper and ribbon adorned
I wonder was this delivered this morn?
Closer i I crept up to the parcel with delight
Enjoying the beauty...

A welcome breeze caresses my face
Bringing with it love and grace
Dancing round me gracefully
Swirling, spinning ever so gently love. Peace and joy gifted to me
Causing all cares and worriers to flee
Light as a feather, I feel tis true
I embrace the day and all is new.

Eyes closed and and curled tight
in this cocoon protected from light
In stillness I wait and wonder what I will be
When I break forth into a new reality
Will I long for the darkness and the night
When the dawn comes and I see the light
Will I cringe, drawback and hide
Or let this new light be my guide
Ambivalent thoughts dance 'round in my mind.
Shall I cling to what was or leave it behind
Will I long for what I had what was and is...

I walked along side my sistah who was in a fix you see
I Listened to her dilemma as she shared it with me
And the burden that she was bearing touched my heart
It was hard to bear like a heavy laden cart
It weighed her down and dulled her smile
It made her linger in thoughts not worthwhile
And my privilege was to come along side
Offer her encouragement, be her guide
For once I bore a burden like this in another time and place
I was weighed...
