what's up with the ''Good Days'' and the ''Bad Das''

If I could list something that I absolutely loathe about my ADHD-PI it would be in its inconsistency that varies from time to time. There will be days where I feel super and that I could do anything , days in which I could actually focus a bit , then there are days where nothing seems to help me concentrate and I'm on autopilot and I have to wait til my brain comes out of it which could be anything from days to weeks. So what is up with this inconsistency ? How does it exist and what is the scientific basis for it ?

Yeah, I'm the same way. Some days I can accomplish everything. Other days, my brain is full of little butterflies. :D

I have bad days when I couldn't sleep well the night before because of sinus issues and then my Ritalin doesn't do anything for me because I'm so sleepy. Then I can't focus on college work and I feel angry because another day is wasted without doing much at all but sleeping.

In fact, today is one of those days...

Some things that may cause it are not sleeping well, dealing with a lot of stress,
and getting sick.

Which is pretty much true for everybody on the planet, just moreso for those of us with ADHD.

I can totally relate to the sinus/lack of sleep part making meds useless... Even on concerta, when you have a bad cold productivity and focus is low, as you feel tired and dizzy from all the sinus pressure.... But i guess NTs are also probably more prone to experience some lack of focus when they're all stuffed up! That's just being sick it's normal!

The problem with my sinuses is making me really mad because I have 3 term papers to do and it took me nearly a month to get one done and I only have a month left for the other two. I'm hoping moving my laptop table to my room will help keep me on task with less distraction (because it was in the living room and can be distracting there). I also had been studying on my bed because I didn't have a table and chair in my room (plus my room doesn't have the best lighting in the world)... gosh.. all these little things can be very fustrating...

I only got an hour left until I have to go class and I'm about to cry because I'm thinking "WHEN!?!?! WHEN!?!?! WILL I GET WORK DONE!!!" :(
When I get back from class, then I have to make my lunch/dinner and I'm not sure what I'll even get done after that.

if you are not just having a regular cold, maybe you should see your doctor and they can determine what it is you're having. One girl at my workplace had major year long allergies to dust and she was not aware she just had sinus headaches all the time and now she takes allergy meds and controls her environment and she has a lot more energy now.
