Problem with medication info please
 

I was put on methylphenidate sr 20 mg the other day and took it yesterday morning it made me extremely tired in like a hour like I hadnt any sleep the night before and it lasted all day I ate before taking it like doc said but now I still feel just as tired but my mind is racing I wanna do that no wait I wanna do that but I barely have the energy it seems to get up??? Please help my doc said to take meds for 2-3 more days and see what happens if this gonna happen I dont want to???

I have searched all search engines nothing talks about this anyone have any ideas?

Taking it without having slept the previous night is not a good idea.

You said you are taking "methylphenidate", is it Novartis Ritalin? If not, which generic? Mallinckrodt by any chance?

I am sorry you are having trouble with this!

Maybe it is the generic you are on like Abi said! Mallinckrodt is awful for me. That is white with an M in it. Watson is also awful. Those are either green or pink, i am not sure. The best are name brand which are yellow and say CIBA or the sandoz which are yellow and say SZ on them. That is how it is for me anyways.

Maybe 20 mg at once is too much. If it is too much or too little it can make you tired. Unless it is WAY too much. Then it makes you bounce off the walls.

Some people do better with Adderall or another med. It just depends on the person.

Good luck to you. Trying to find the best med for yourself is frustrating but worth the effort and the annoyance of the trial and error.

No I slept the previous night I took it in the morning and it made me feel like I hadent slept that night was exhausted I took again today and same problem. And there small white round tablets with sz 780 stamped on them

It could be that Ritalin isn't the medication for you. The good thing is that there are many ADHD medications to switch to.
But you could try maybe a lower or higher dose if you talk to your doctor about that first.

I don't know, but I'm actually going to my dr tomorrow to talk to him about this... falling asleep while driving after taking a stimulant seems counterproductive to me ;)
