sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
... like when you can't find (or are too lazy to reach for) a small pan to heat up your pizza, so you use the first thing you can find, which happens to be the lid to my dutch oven. It worked amazingly well. I was surprised.
Of course, DH did something along the lines of :faint: (along with a squeaky "you did what?!") The thing is oven safe. I fail to see the problem. This is my life lately. And here I thought I was creatively solving a problem. Maybe I do need to have my meds upped some afterall :giggle: |

Hehe..good find!

Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
I re-purpose things all the time if I can't find what I originally need! I think it's one of the bonuses.
I've actually turned plastic bags into a funnel by cutting a corner because we didn't have one and someone was actually just going to go out and buy one instead. It works and it doesn't hurt anyone. |
Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
lol siliv...failing any of that...just put the pizza straight in the oven on th shelf saves time washing up :)

Makes for a crispier crust too! Unfortunately, you DO have to put it on something when you take it out of the oven.
These "substitutes" usually happen to me when everything else I have is dirty, like when I use a cool whip container to eat soup or something. |
Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
Flory, OW! I hope your burn is ok :( That's totally un-fun.
And I can't seem to cook pizza w/o something under it... the cheese always melts and tries to set my oven on fire.... I sound like such a cooking n00b saying that, but it's true! (not that I can't cook, I can, and quite well, just not warming up pizza, apparently) |
Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
An ADD moment once saved me $60 on a new medication.
Got prescribed something new, excited to try it, got to my pharmacy... They would have to order it, wouldn't be in till after weekend. Well, you kow how impatient we are.... So I drove way out of my way that night. Well, instead of $80, it was only $20. No one can as of yet explain the difference. |
Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
You did creatively solve it! He's just mad because he didn't think of it. lol
I'll never forget the day my best friend and I thought we'd do her mom a favor and fix dinner before she got home from work. (about 20 yrs. ago) Frozen peas were on the menu, but we were using the other sauce pans, so thought we'd get creative. :) We got the bright idea to use a deep, round, glass oven dish on the stove top. We thought if it could stand oven temps, it would surely be okay. WRONG! She boiled the water first, then dumped the peas in and KA-f'n-BOOM!! We picked up peas and glass for a long damn time......and mom wasn't too happy. lol |
Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
You should see the things I've tried to use as a hammer.

Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
I did much the same thing at a friend house ...she had never had pot roast ! ...so while she was at work, I put one together and used what SAID it was stove top ok glass pot .....
no it wasn't ...... pot roast, and broth everywhere ........ lucky for me it was a solid top stove ...so wiping up that was easy ..... and Wendy was very gracious about me busting one of her cooking items ! .... I did this a vcouple of years ago, and was 60 at the time ...so get used to this kind of thing guys .....it doesn't get any better with age and experience....heh |

I knew I was desperate the day I tried to use my chapstick bottle as a hammer for something like a thumbtack or something... :eyebrow: It worked but man I squished my finger. Granted, I never seem to actually know where my hammer is when I need it. |
Re: sometimes, those ADHD moments aren't *so* bad....
