Men Only - About to fall into an exhausted coma

Just want to find out from other men out there, do you ever get into a completely manic state, rather insane feeling when there is a huge dealine looming and you have to catch up a years work in only few days. Its now 10am in the morning and I am about to collapse after working without or with very little sleep since Friday last week to catch up a years work. Getting evaluated tomorrow and I had done nothing for a year. Well just got back from town having delivered everything (double and tripple checked it, hope its right)

Problem is I become incredibly self destructive when in this statel and the smallest thing sets me off.... a safe space to be and to gently unload is important to keep me sane....my family understands and gives me the time and space to do what it is I have to do it...they gently support me during these phases (which happen fairly regularly cause of many deadlines and no work done).

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against women, I love them, but I have too many woman in my work environment and find discussing real stuff with them too noisy and sharp. Men on the other hand you just have to say....errr, yeah, um, well, yes....and we get it.:doh:That is why I love biking

thats all for now, work in........off to bed in the middle of the morning

Would you consider yourself more adhd pi/ sct. Or adhd. Also, have you ever had your testosterone levels checked?

Lol man u seem really unhappy.. what I mean is do u feel hyperactive (adhd) or more sluggish and low energy and usually never very hyper, kinda like ur in a haze always (adhd pi/sct).. the reason I ask is I've read about numerous people who have the latter (adhd pi/ sct) and have low testosterone when they get checked, and experience very positive results when they receive treatment.

I don't think Sarah was trying to be "cute" or insulting, she's really saying there may be a different problem or comorbid disorder going on with the OP. (feel free Sarah to correct me if I'm wrong)

I guess I can't be all that insulted about the "woman" thing. There's a good reason that I don't have a whole lot of female friends. I won't get into my reasons and derail the OPs thread, I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Not really, when there's an important deadline coming up for almost anything that I most likely won't be able to make, my brain shuts down and I don't bother trying because "why waste time and energy on something you're not gonna get done on time anyway". I get the manic state feeling when there's a deadline for something I'm pretty sure I can actually meet, like 80-90% sure.

Hmm Nate you have me all wrong..I am actually a very lucky and happy guy, beautiful house, wife, kids and so on that I built up with sweat and tears and can now reap the rewards. The reality is that dealing with my ADHD everyday, all day, is a constant mountain to climb and I thought this forum would help me to dump some of this load...I was wrong because while there are some really very nice people here others are playing dangerous games forcing one to be very careful.

Here in Africa we don't have different sub groups for ADHD, you are either ADHD or you don't...ok to be honest some talk of ADHD or ADD. 100 years behind the times. However to try and honestly answer your question I am not sure I can because I am not always hyperactive or always sluggish...depends what I have to do...race motorbikes over the moutains at full speed then I am hyper until emotinally exhausted...sometimes I am just hyper and have to force myself to slow down and relax and wait for everyone to catch up. Admin for instance is so very painful for me, its really sore and all my energy just dissapears and I become sluggish and really have to force myself step by step to complete the task. With the help of Retlin this is much easier...before retlin it would take me three months to do my tax return..now it only takes a week to complete it. Retlin helps, but it does not solve everything...life is still a constant battle for sanity in some respects..a real joy in other ways...dealing with ADHD a real dissability I am begining to realise. Other things and tests..sure maybe they will help...but I simply cannot contemplate adding things to try and deal with. Thanks for the really helpful response...maybe one day I will be able to follow it further.

Is adderall/dexedrine/amphetamine based meds available where you live? They're usually more effective at treating ADHD than methylphenidate(ritalin), only reason ritalin is used a lot is because it's been around longer. If amphetamines aren't available, maybe try a higher dose of ritalin? Can't hurt.

Thanks Spacemaster, but you know I believe "cute" remains the right reponse to Sarah. Yeah I was not trying to insult women, but there are times when I just need space ..there is nothing wrong with the way women interact...its just different to what I need at times. Hell even my wife understands that and gives me time in my Mancave, or freedom to go ride bikes with the guys while she goes off jogging and chating with her friends. This energises us both and our time together is richer for it. Actually the really funny thing is that its not really about MEN OR WOMEN...its just that the general forum is so noisy and busy and i wanted a nice quite forum to post and say a few things. Unfortunately my last thread was moved to the general forum and suddenly all sorts of really nasty stuff started to arrive...it really threw me. I am getting over it. If this thread is moved to the general forum then I will just start another one.
