Strattera & migraine, more feedback please!

Looking for feedback on if Strattera helped folks migraines?

I'd like to hear about it too.

Only somewhat related, but I have had 24/7 pressure headaches for well over 10 years. It definitely reduces my functionality to around half what it used to be without, and has been resistant to any kind of treatment thus far, no explanations no diagnosis other than tentative NDPH (new daily persistent headache, the most resilient/untreatable type.) Thankfully I don't get pain or migraine symptoms with it, so it's mostly a "nuisance" kind of thing.

But here's how it connects to your topic. It is a chronic headache as I assume your chronic migraine was. I'm supposed to try Strattera for terrible inattentive ADD. I'm wondering if this may help, if it helped your migraine, maybe there's a possibility it could help with this.

I was disheartened to see another user starting out with Strattera (in another thread) mentioned that he gets "head pressure" in the early stages of taking the meds. That's exactly what I have without taking any meds for ADD...

..

What's a pressure headache? Someone else posted to this subject area that Strattera helped her migraines (thread from earlier this month from bikechick) and my psychiatrist suggested it but I've been scared to try Strattera because I've had poor luck with anything but Adderall for my ADHD. But my migraines have gotten so bad I'm ready to try anything.

Don't worry too much about startup symptoms- if headache is one and it's only during startup, then it might be worth it to try?

Migraines are just your brain going haywire and sending out signals to your body to feel things that it doesn't need to. If you pressure headaches are caused by that, theoretically, Strattera could help.

There's an older (but recently resurrected) thread on migraines & Strattera -- it might be of some help to you.

Everyone is different. All you can do is give it a trial.

I've been on several meds for hypertension that supposedly also help with
migraines. None of them helped me with either issue, and I had a severe
allergic reaction to one of them. :(

Pressure headache is another way of saying tension headache, right? I've done
a LOT of reading on migraines and even tension headaches can be migraines.
For years I was treated for sinus headaches, and none of those meds helped.
Turns out most sinus headaches are actually migraines, unless you have an
infection in your sinuses.

I don't just get the 'classic migraine' with the stabbing pain above one eye and
the visual disturbances. I get them all at different times. Tight band around my
head ... yep. Sinus pain behind my eyes ... yep. Terrible tension in my neck ...
yep. Pain and tingling on the top of my head ... yep. Gut migraines ... yep.
And occasionally that stab in the corner of the eye ... yep.

The only thing my vision does is get blurry. Sometimes I will smell and taste
something I haven't eaten in months. Sometimes my balance is bad. Usually
I don't have nausea, but occasionally I will wake up about an hour after going
to bed and get very sick, very quickly.

It's hell to live this way, so I hope you'll give Strattera a trial, maybe it will
work for you. I hope so.
