Question Is it normal for my medication (adderall) to affect me differently when I'm depressed

In the winter time I get noticeably depressed every year around February and there is almost nothing I can do about it. While normally someone would get on anti-depressants to correct my magnitude of depression, I always get through it because I know it is for only a month or two.

But I notice that when I take adderall, as I do everyday, while depressed that I get stuck in my depressed mood and it turns into anxiety.

I've been on meds since last May, so this is fresh to me.

I guess it makes sense because it normally locks in on my happy mood, so why wouldn't it lock it on my depressed mood?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if they can help me to understand it and get around it because it is really not pleasant.
