Hotmail calendar?

I don't know if this really belongs in software, but... has anyone tried the calendar feature on the free hotmail email accounts?

I'm wondering if it would only be useful if I were logged into my hotmail account all day or at least checked it very frequently.

Also has anyone tried the sharing calendars with other hotmail users feature? Can you just see the other persons calendar or actually enter info onto them too? I was thinking it might be a good way to keep a family calendar that everyone could have access to almost anywhere...
