not too sure about strattera but only been 2 days

I started strattera yesterday.

I have a very low tolerance for medication. I was given the child starter kit so 10Mg a day for 5 days. Etc.

I am so much more calm and less distracted by noise etc. less motivation. Tired. No emotion. No appetite. Blah.

I also feel different every hour or so. Several times I felt fairly energetic. Then very slow and lethargic. Some agitation here and there. Mostly an hour after I take it and lasts close to an hour.

Mild nausea. only thing I've eaten is chocolate. Which is weird BC I really don't like sweets. But its the only thing appealing. I will think of something I might want to easy but then the moderate craving is gone. I don't feel hungry so whatever.

Oh. I weighed 126 yesterday and 122 today. I thought I ate a lot yesterday. Had a sandwich, hamburger helper, marshmallows, a brownie type desert, like half a pie pan. Today I can only stomach the choc desert. And water.

Day 3

I am so tired. I could sleep all day. I slept from 1a until 1130a and had a nap yesterday.

Not good when you have two kids under 5 yoa.

I still crave chocolate. Nothing else. I polished off that dessert.

No motivation. Feeling very slow. AS much as I would like to just wait it out, I can't afford to do this for days or Weeks with two young kids.

Gonna call doc tomorrow. Will take the med before bed too, see if that helps.

Yeah, i'm so calling the pdoc tomorrow. This med its kicking my butt. I feel awful.

Called the pdoc, left a message. Did not take the strattera today and feel loads better. Ugh... There is no way I could wait out those side effects in hopes it 'might' work. That was horrible.

without sounding like debbie downer, lots of people have similar problems and poor results with strattera can you try a stim instead ? but do be aware that strattera can take a little while to work also so might be worth sitting it out just a touch longer

If its that bad it will prob never get better. Even if it starts working it doesn't last that long until the good effects start getting less and the depression/anger feeling starts. Thats been my experience of it and from what I read it seems to happen to most people.

if I could, I would wait it out but I have two young kids and a household that depend on me. I can't wait Weeks for better results and hope I don't damage something in the meantime, ya know?

If it were just tiredness, I could deal but i'm irritable, extremely unmotivated, zombie like. Hadn't even said more than 5 words to my husband.

Other fam members have had good results w stims. So, yeah, pry going to have to go that route.

My pdoc told me, straight up, this med will either work or it won't. She said there isn't much grey area w this one...
