Adderall worked for first 2 days, now nothing...

It doesn't seem to matter whether I take 15mg IR 2x a day or 7.5mg (half pill) 2x a day, it's doing absolutely nothing at all for me anymore. Not a thing... I am so frustrated. It's like I'm swallowing Skittles or M&Ms. Not only do I not get increased focus, I actually feel MORE foggy headed and LESS focused.

What is my next step if Adderall does not work? It worked for 2 days, then nothing. This is my first ever stimulant medication (and I do not use stimulants or other drugs recreationally, either).

I think adding a booster ir med might help.

what do you have,...celiac? I have no clue what that is or how it affects any of your meds. Do you take any meds eg anti psychotics (not judgeing, I've taken every one in the book at one time), that might deplete dopamine or an ssri, prozac- could? have interactions, but people on this board still take with no problem.......what if u take 30mg adderall IR, can ya feel anything, even if negative? bc that SHOULD do something

and only do what yer dr says dont just pop 15irs til u feel effect, ask yer dr first etc.

My adderall rarely works without drinking coffee, so I think Sarah is right about a booster.

I do have celiac, but as long as I don't eat foods with gluten I shouldn't have issues with absorption. I don't take any other meds except occasional Tylenol, Norvasc 10 mg (at night, for high blood pressure - not due to the Adderall, I've been on it since I was 18 - I'm 34 now) and Zyrtec (at night) for allergies.

Until recently, I did take Wellbutrin but found that it literally obliterated the Adderall, so I no longer take that (doctor is ok with me going off the Wellbutrin).

I haven't tried popping two of the 15mg IR at the same time. Given that it makes me sleepy at this dose, I think 2 of them might just knock me out, lol.

Hmm, okay... I can try it with coffee. I normally take my morning dose without coffee but sometimes I do have some coffee later in the day. If I do, it seems to keep me up at night.

AddYourAll, do you think it would be better to do a 15mg pill and a half pill (so 22.5mg, respectively) in the am and then my regular 15mg in the afternoon? I also considered 10mg every 2.5 hours... but I don't have 10mg pills to see if that would work better.

Maybe adderall is not the right med for you? I don't think you should be asking people on this forum for advice on how to take more of your medication. That is a decision best left to your doctor. Call them in the morning and tell them it is not working, share your concerns; if they are a good doctor they will listen and offer up a solution.

Can you try stopping the zyrtec for a couple days as an experiment? I bet the adderall will work better for you...zyrtec makes my brain foggy if I take it, and adderall doesn't counteract this for me.
