Question Think Vyvanse is "drying me out"

Has anyone experienced something like this? It seems since I started taking Vyvanse that I'm not as oily; my body/skin produces oil on an average level. When I shower and I'm distributing the water along my arms and such I notice my skin feels different. It's like my skin needs to soak up the water whereas it didn't need to before because of the oil production since my last shower. I don't have to wash my hair as often either. Like, I usually just skip a day and wash my hair every other day like you're supposed to (women anyway, unless your body produces extra oil). [I'm having a hard time describing this so bear with me] When I started 50mg one side of my nose started to hurt, no respiratory issues like congestion or anything, but I noticed a cut on the inside of my nose like it had been so dry it cracked. Reminded me of in cold weather your lips or hands will be so dry they crack. I mentioned it to my doctor and she suggested the weather wasn't as humid as usual...that didn't make me feel any better or assure me that was the reason.
Anyway, was wondering if anyone else experienced something similar. I'm now on 60mg and not noticing any difference.

Re: Think Vyvanse is "drying me out"

Yes, I'm on Adderall and I notice not only extreme dry mouth but my skin and hair are dry as well. More than normal.

Odd thing is, when I started on meds, I didn't notice the dryness too much. It appears to be getting worse though. I've not increased my dose since June '11.

It's my understanding that stimulants inhibit salivary production, which explains dry mouth (although I'm not sure exactly HOW it inhibits). As far as the hair and skin---I'll be the first to admit I have no clue why this is happening.

Try drinking more water and gatorade. It can help.
