Medication
Hellooo
I've been on 72mg of concerta for around 6 months now, when I started on it I felt I could concentrate better but now I feel like I could concentrate better before them. Also they make me real tired. Anybody else experienced these things?

Re: Medication
I am exhausted a lot of the time, so I understand the feeling... I'm only one 36mg but the "newness" of being able to concentrate and focus has definitely worn off. I'm starting to wonder if it's not my body building up an immunity to the dosage or what...
I know, not real helpful- but I haven't done much as far as figuring out WHY yet.

Re: Medication
It's pretty grim isn't it! I'm also on these anti-convulsant tablets for anxiety and they do the opposite of the concerta!
I have been trying to work out whether I've built up a tolerance to it or just gotten used to it. It is safe to say though, I can't concentrate on them! Going to see the psychiatrist tomorrow so I might hint at trying adderall or something different ![]()

Re: Medication
Have you considered switching to an amphetamine?

Re: Medication
I'm on 72mg Concerta XL (after today increasing it to 90mg
), Pregabalin 150mg and Escitalopram 20mg.I find it hard to know what is doing what to be honest! Even though I have asked to decrease pregabalin the doctor seems reluctant What sort of amphetamines Ms. Sweets? Like dextroamphetamine?

Re: Medication
Well, took dexedrine for about 7 years and it was ok, however it gave me some motivation but more often than not it was motivation to chill and socialize, not so good for getting things done. Ive since switched to adderall and i believe the levoamphetamine in adderall gives me much better focus and motivation. I personally did terrible on ritalin. It gave me some benefits but they were really short lived and my mood swings were killing me. Alot of people have great success on ritalin though.

The doctor mentioned that if 90mg concerta xl doesn't work, then I'll be trying atomoxetine (non stimulant). I'm not going to be too skeptical just yet as I haven't tried it but fingers crossed!

Re: Medication
It's my understanding that Adderall, if even available in the UK, is extremely difficult to get a prescription for. Going to a private pdoc is probably the best way.

Re: Medication
Having looked into atomoxetine (my docs next choice), its branded as Strattera in the US. Does anybody have any experience of this?
Thank youuuu!
