Do you get frustrated easily?

I read this somewhere as a symptom of ADD and thought YES.

It doesn't take much to get me down or frustrate me enough to abandon something I'm working on, and I hate that. I work through it in some ways--as a writer I get lots of rejection, but I keep writing--but I feel like it just takes something tiny to totally take my feet out from under me for a long time.

Anybody else?

Re: Do you get frustrated easily?

Ahhhhh frustration.... My old companion.

Though in all truth my frustration comes from dealing with other people and having them accept my ADD. I bust my BUTT trying to focus an even trying to make myself hyperfocus on tasks so my speed improves (I'm generally not a hyperfocuser, I usually have little focus for anything) I exhaust myself horribly with the pacing I'm trying to get to at work to make it seem like I'm a useful employee. Oh and I work and I am crazy about the quality and never sacrifice it to be faster... So I'm probably not as efficient as their little rating system thinks I should be.

I'm mostly frustrated by living up to robot standards. You need to be able to do this much stuff in this length of time, and life doesn't work like that. ESPECIALLY if you have ADD/ADHD.

Re: Do you get frustrated easily?

I get frustrated at other people taking it easy at work when I flog myself all day concentrating hard to get my work done and they finish quicker and produce a good job too. I then get frustrated at myself for not being able to do the same. I don't have time to talk to my colleagues so I am quite lonely at work so appear like a loner; I am not I just want to keep my job.

Re: Do you get frustrated easily?

I seem to get frustrated super easily, though I'm working on keeping it to a minimum.

Yesterday something annoyed me, I ended up slamming my door behind me and it wouldn't open. I had to climb through the eves of the attic to the opposite room and open the door from the other side :P

Re: Do you get frustrated easily?

my frustration tolerance is Very low. Lots of anger issues, so it doesn't take much at all to set me off. I am taking an online anger management course, and I hope it will help me, so far nothing else has.

Re: Do you get frustrated easily?

I get frustrated easily too. Short fuse I call it. Normally I don't explode unless I'm going through PMDD then it's uncontrollable, along with all the other horrible symptoms.

Most of the time I'm struggling to stay focused, not stray off the path and actually be able to process what information I'm either reading and writing.

I don't think I'll ever be able to take being rejected as a writer so I'm just going to do the editing all by myself and release it through the Appstore. It will cost be more (an iPad and the iBook application) and be a lot of hard work but I'll have one less thing to get stressed about. My sister is also an editor and can help out.
One day I hope I could get picked up by a publisher. I think that happened to my sister's friend.

Most of my stress comes from not being in control of when my brain will focus, do tasks, can speak at least one coherent sentence and not get so overwhelmed by people and the environment. There's always meds but if I'm exhausted then they won't help with the processing issues.

I think keeping up with people who don't have these issues is stressful too. Even when they want to be understanding they don't always remember every issue. To them I seem to be a person lacking in energy that is prone to migraines.

They want me to go out again and I want to be focused on my writing which after a four day break is going to be hard to get back into. And it's frustrating wanting to do something but you can't, so you have to wait until you get the focus and the ability to write as well as you used to. And then you hear about these people that can read or write whenever.

Re: Do you get frustrated easily?

Yes. When I was a kid it often lead to me smacking a sibling and getting in trouble. It also made me unwilling to try things that I was not good at since I knew it would be incredibly frustrating.

When learning something new, I learn in 15 minute intervals...that's about how long I can go before I want to throw something.

Every once in a while I DO throw something and it is very embarrassing!

I get frustrated easily, but it also passes quickly. A rant to an unfortunate bystander is all it takes

Yes, over-frustrated too.

Yep, my irritation and frustration, especially when it's directed a person, is also quickly diffused.
