Anyone tried green tea or L theanine on their child?

I've heard a bit about green tea, or the L theanine in it, being helpful for people with ADHD. I'm wondering if anyone has tried it on their child with success?

I've also heard of coffee helping, but I am deathly afraid to try it on my child lest it make him all the more hyper.

I tried it for myself once, but I'm afraid either my memory about how well it worked has failed me, or I was not consistent about taking it, because I can't tell you much.

Re: Anyone tried green tea or L theanine on their child?

I give my 8 year old L-Theanine chewable tablets on the days she doesn't take her meds. She has executive functioning issues which are improving with age and is mostly affected by the innattentiveness at school so she only takes her meds for school. I find she is a bit calmer with the L-Theanine. Basically less reactive, but doesn't touch attention for her.

I tried L-theanine with my 10 yr old daughter. It did not seem to help with anxiety or Adhd symptoms, although from all I've read it should. To be fair to these supplements, this was not all she was on. Let us know how things are going if you try it.

Caffeine is not recommended, it tends to end up as anxiety rather than any real help.
