We may not know "exactly" but we really do know a good bit about this sort of thing. I suspect that not knowing exactly would apply to how almost all medications work but how they work is far far from just speculation.

We likely will never know everything about any subject of this sort and this is what drives research. The more we learn, the more there is to learn. This is one of the things that makes life interesting and worthwhile.

The workings of the brain is a fascinating subject to get into, you might do some research just for your own benefit.

Take care,

Dizfriz

Re: neurotransmitter testing

I had my NT's tested and what the results brought track was quite compelling, the certain excess and deficiency's described my personality and character completely

Glad you were happy with how you spent your money.

Still, the only effective test of neurotransmitters in the brain requires cracking open the skull post-mortem. I hope that they find a better method in our lifetimes. Which reminds me, I want my brain donated to science when I die... I wonder where I can get a card to fill out.

If you look hard enough to find similarities, astrology will describe your personality and character completely too. Doesn't matter which month you pick. Good snake oil works like that.

I hear that The Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus are also compelling fictions that gullible people enjoy. If you think snake oil is great, don't cry when you make an important decision based on garbage information and it screws you over hard.

Doing things for the right reason is just as important as doing the right thing.
