I am really good at knowing what region a wine is made from, or if I've had the wine before, I can tell you what the name of brand is. I have a really good memory for wine labels too. I am not a Sommelier either. I worked for a couple wine stores in the past, and it's just something that i really loved learning about.

I'm really good at drinking wine.

Re: Tell me something positive about yourself :)

I'm good at improvising, dreaming and not letting practical things get in my way! I'm also excellent at confusing people by just being myself.

I've recently discovered I'm good with computers as long as it's not a P.C., all my friends call me when they have computer trouble. I consider this an accomplishment because before I got a Mac in 2006 I couldn't even check my email I was so computer illiterate!

I'm good at writing music, although it took years until I actually realized this. It wasn't until my songs started getting a lot of attention by people whom I really respected that I was able to admit that I have a talent for songwriting. But I could definitely be much better.... been lazy lately.

I'm really good at a few things and I'm horrible at most everything else.

Re: Tell me something positive about yourself :)

I am great at sight-reading music, that is I can play a song rather well the first time I've seen the sheet music. I'm also really good at learning new wind instruments. I learned how to play the saxophone in a month, because in my senior year I had to join jazz band. They didn't have music for flutes, so I learned sax, and I was better than most of the kids who had been playing for 7 years.

I am also good at learning languages. I always got like, 106% on my Spanish tests because I'd nail the test plus the extra credit. I don't know why I'm good at that, because I always have a hard time finding my words when speaking to someone in English. I've been out of high school for eight years and I still remember more Spanish than most would at that point.

Between the artwork, music, languages, I think my soul just wants to have the ability to express myself. I wonder how well I would do WITHOUT AD/HD? After all, I have these qualities despite the AD/HD, not because of it. Certainly not because of it.

No wonder why I enjoy reading your posts. I'm the same way with people. I can accept people for who they are. You sound like you have compassion for people.

I'm so envious, I'm a terrible sight reader! I spent literally years trying to learn how to read music, and was never able to really get it. I can read things that are in really basic keys, like middle C and G, but anything more than that and my brain basically shrugs and says, "I really don't know what you want me to do with that, so I'm gonna go think about whether or not the universe ever ends." I play piano by ear, which is fun, but I have always wished I were better at reading sheet music.

I'm actually a talented guitar player. Music has been one of the few things I've been able to excel in.

Re: Tell me something positive about yourself :)

Music is my major fascination as well. Jammage is the universal language.

I do more listening than I do playing, but when I do play, the djembe drum and the Native American flute are my instruments of choice. I can't read music.....I just play. lol

I still leak and squeak on the flute and can't keep a rhthym going on the drum if I try to talk or get distracted....but it's so much fun and definitely therapeutic. I also incorporate music into the days I my do care-giving gig, and used it a lot when I worked in the voc rehab arena.

We're headin' out Wed. morning for a 5 day music festival/camping adventure w/ 10 stages of jammage and other cool stuff flowing daily - and - thanks to Dizfriz posting the info, I'm starting a free online class about World Music starting tomorrow.

I'm so excited. I just can't fight it!!!!

Re: Tell me something positive about yourself :)

I raised an autistic child to independence. It's been my life's work. I was only 18 when I had him. DH was 19. It was really hard but we did it and we're still together.
