My problem is that the commercial breaks are too short! I either have to sit and watch the entire thing in one go, or I watch half of it, then spend 10-15 minutes doing something else. I find that when I'm watching a TV show live (something I rarely have time to do) I sit through the commercials because I know that if I get up, I'll get caught up in something else and forget I was watching TV. It's easier to just stand up, walk around the living room, then sit back down.

On a related note, does anybody else find it supremely annoying when a person flips rapid-fire through channels while channel surfing? My sister (ADHD-PI) does this, and I (ADHD-C) want to beat her senseless with the remote control when she does. She won't rest more than 3 or 4 seconds on any channel before moving to the next one, and it makes me feel almost agitated, like I want her to just pick one and settle on it. Does anyone else feel that way?

I like going to the movies because it helps me forget about my life for a couple of hours. Watching a movie at home is a different story. There are too many distractions, such as thinking about what needs to get done, or sometimes I just fall asleep.

Well, hmm I love films but can never sit through an entire one, so its hard for me to say. I watch little T.V and if I watch a show they are short.

Lmao. Movies and ADHD have no connection... Though I do love them, because I can just sit there and do nothing...

This is provided no one crunching popcorn, or clanking dishes, or talking, or making any sort of noise... the crunching infuriates me.

I am going to make a movie theater with no popcorn of food aloud.

Re: I love films. Is this normal for someone with ADD?

For me while I enjoy going to movies (mainly because of the company, more then the movie), I find myself zoned out about 20 mins into it. For example, I went to see Ted a while back, but all I can tell you is it was about a teddy bear that could talk. And was made by the creator of Family Guy. Other then that nothing.

While I am there in body, I am not there mentally I suppose.
