I'm Back on the Forum But Have to Type Quickly as Lunesta is kicking in

OK so I said I would try to be on the forum more often but that obviously didn't happen. (Sorry....It's an ADHD thing....)

I gave the forum link to my brother who has been finally properly diagnosed for adhd for several months and he was looking for a support group to go to. I said why go out of the house when you can check out this wonderful forum that got me through the roughest years of my life.

The reason I haven't been on is lack of time. I still get totally stressed out, have adhd, work fulltime, premenopausal, and anxiety is getting worse the older I get. (just turning 51.) but all the previous issues regarding my son are nothing short of a miracle.

He's 19 now. He graduated high school with Honor Roll last year. He finished his first year of Community College as a Freshman on the Deans List and starts next week as a Sophmore in College.

I have so many wonderful updates to give but my Lunesta is kicking in so I try not to type after a certain time at night and this is the time

I will get out a copy of his college IEP and will share that along with sharing some awesome updates on his job, car and friends. Until then...

I haven't seen one of these yet ! I can only imagine how much easier college would have been if I had been diagnosed back then. Though it might have kept me out of the military where I met dh . Ah, well.

It will be so awesome if you can share the IEP for college.

My granddaughter just started high school, so only a few more years before we'll need to know what can be done to help with college.

Off topic - Anything that tastes as bad as Lunesta CANNOT be good for you. Maybe switch to Ambien

I didn't know that was what was the cause of the "metal-mouth". . . I'd have a really hard time dealing with a drug that made everything taste like crap. . . my utmost sympathy to anyone who has to endure that ****

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

In addition to being thankful for my husband and two kids (19 and 21), I am also thankful that we were all properly diagnosed and properly medicated so that I am able to honestly type that "I am thankful for my husband and two kids."

I am thankful that I have not taken Lunesta since October 26 (almost 4 weeks). It was not by choice at first. I had forgotten that I didn't have any refills left and it was a weekend. The first night I was awake all night even after taking melatonin and advil pm. The next day my daughter suggested that I take my xanax at night like her doctor suggested that she do so I tried it and it worked. It mellowed me out enough that I went to sleep. Usually I just take 1/2 a xanax as needed during the day during stressful times rather than proactively. I thought for sure I would have to find a Lunesta anonymous class. Am very thankful was able to get off that stuff. (shhhh...I still have a bottle stashed and got a refill just in case...Ya never know... )

I am thankful that on today's Doctor Oz show he had a segment on Women and ADHD. I watched it this evening and thought "oh, I forgot to send my friend that I talked to on Saturday some info on adhd for her daughter-in-law regarding her 5 year old grandson" so I just did that. Then thought "oh, I forgot to post a copy of my son's IEP for college on the add forum site"...so I am thankful for the Doctor Oz show

I guess I can type it all out unless there is a way to scan a document and attach it. Hmmm...

Thank you. My ADHD granddaughter is in high school already (!) and it's
not too soon to be thinking about what she'll need for college.
