Do you get kidney pain when on Adderall?

I seem to always have discomfort in my kidneys by the end of the day after taking Adderall. I think it goes away by drinking water, but it sure can be annoying.

Anyone else have this problem?

I would definitely bring that up to your doctor, you're not suppose to take adderall if you have kidney problems.

Did you have kidney problems before starting Adderall? If so, the manufacturers guidelines DO say that you need to tell your doctor about certain conditions--kidney related conditions as well--prior to starting Adderall.

There isn't anything about Adderall XR or IR causing kidney problems though. Call your doc and talk to them before you stop taking it.

I've had a history or urinary tract infections and kidney problems.. in fact I've seen my general doctor too much this month for my insurance to cover for more visits, so I'll have to wait until next month..

...at least it doesn't hurt when I urinate.. but I have this sharp pain in my left kidney and my kidneys in general feel weird.. I had similar symptoms when on Ritalin. I think the Adderall is doing the same thing, only worse..

The sharp pain began yesterday and I still took some Adderall today, but now I'm worried something bad will happen

I had some side cramps when I first started Adderall. It felt like a stitch in my side--the kind you get when you run? I called my doc and she said that I wasn't drinking enough water.

Sure enough, after I increased water consumption, I never had the pain again.

Not saying this is your issue at all. I would call and see if your doc can talk to you on the phone before you stop taking the med though.

I'll see if I can contact my psychiatrist or leave him a message. If not, I'll have to wait until my next appointment which is in two weeks. If I have to wait that long, I'm just going to skip some days of Adderall.
