Re: Have you ever met anyone with ADHD?

I've met someone once that I knew was on Ritalin, but at the time I didn't know much about ADHD.

While I did hear about it before and considered that I might have it too, I completely forgot about it and didn't really "connect the dots" so to speak. That's what happens when you have ADHD and forget to stay informed about stuff like this.. lol.

I really hate it when I pass by interesting people I never took the time to talk to and then later in life I'm thinking "man, if only I knew then what I know now..."

Re: Have you ever met anyone with ADHD?

My best friends mom has ADHD and comorbid dx's almost identical to mine. I don't get to chat with her very much because of our age difference and she is friends with my mom (who I do not speak too).

However, the few conversations I've had with her (on a personal and private level) have been amazing. She gets it. I don't even have to speak to her and she knows exactly what is going on and vice versa.

Re: Have you ever met anyone with ADHD?

yes, and for the most part, conversations are a blast! a friend of mine has it pretty badly, and he's off his meds again (not real sure why, but whatever) and DH gets overwhelmed just listening to us chatter because we're bouncing everywhere so quickly and talking so fast that he can't keep up... it's pretty amusing ^_^

I've met someone who probably had a co-morbidity, I don't remember. I was talking about ADHD and some how she got into the conversation and could relate some how too. I think she may have been bi-polar because after that conversation I was sort of worried she would have an episode for no apparent reason... o.O

I have "those episodes" too.

People get worried, I get worried, we all get worried...

My friends mom has it really bad. Super bad.
In addition, she goes on spats where she refuses medicine. It has never turned out well.

That is why I take my medicine, no matter what.
I'm afraid I will go off the deep end if I don't.

I worry about her a lot. I usually call and ask about her once or twice a week. She hates it and I wish my friend didn't tell her mom I called to check on her.

My sister doesn't go on spats of refusing medication. She refuses it always.
One morning I got up, kept psyching myself to get down to business. Busy, busy, busy day ahead of me.
She was already up, being chatty, loud. I knew that it wasn't just a normal level of enthusiasm. And she kept talking to me and tried to get me to listen to music, which I'd normally just not show any interest in, but I decided to not give her any reason to start going off at me.
Then I shoved in ear phones hooked up to my computer.

I've heard her on the phone late at night. Starts off talking happily, getting angrier, yelling and swearing and then bursting into tears. Happy again, angrier, yelling and swearing, bursting into tears.
This went from midnight to 3am one night.

It's all become routine to me.

I just don't understand how someone wouldn't want to treat that.
