Changing RX

Hey guys, I'm 22 and have had an RX for Ritalin for about 3 months now. I was diagnosed with ADHD about 4-5 months ago. I meet with my psychiatrist every 2 and a half weeks. I'm trying to get switched to Adderall because I've tried it and it has worked a lot better for me personally. However, my psychiatrist is very conservative and believes in trying out everything before switching to amphetemines. He's had me on ritalin and has only been upping the dosages by 5-10mg when I tell him its not working completely. I'm not trying to lie but is there a quicker way to make the switch to Adderall? Are there side effects I should look for that are exclusive to Ritalin but not Adderall? So far I've noticed a slight dull and anti-social effect on Ritalin - something I didn't experience on Adderall. I could use some input, thanks.
